Once Prohm is gone, I would hire........

Brian Michaelson, Travis Steel, Jon Scheyer, Shantay Legans, Jamion Christian, there are plenty of names out there - but it has to be enticing, and they must have the ability to build a staff around themselves.

Keep Daniyal Robinson and Micah Byars on staff

i have a working relationship with travis steels dad.

i shall ask him

It is more a statement of how I want nothing to do with Moser. TJ has as many tourney appearances in 5 years as Moser does in 17

I don’t care who was hired at sdstate, that team was loaded with whoever walked into that job. Especially with the conference tournament being one of the top home court advantages in the country. I could easily say he underachieved at SDSU.

I am not defending TJ by saying I think he's better than Moser
TJ may be better, but it’s not a big difference in the next 5 years.

It seems like you’re “no way” on Moser.
But would you be okay with TJ?

People want TJ because he’s brought in as many good recruits as Prohm.

And that’s assuming the HC had nothing to do with TJ’s commits.

OK with TJ if he has the right staff. TJ and his last staff would have been better than Prohm and what he brought

That’s the contradiction. TJ isn’t that much better than Moser (if at all).

Moser is unlikely to leave for this rebuild. May we all hope you’re correct in regards to TJ being better than Prohm. I believe Jamie will prioritize more the plan a potential HC has for staffing in this hire.

athletic article today on the coaching carousal had a quote saying there is a 2% or 3% chance that Moser comes back to loyala. not sure where he will be but sounds like it wont be in the MVC.

He’s turned down opportunities before, but I think he’ll be high up on several lists again.

Three guys that would be interesting coaches at ISU....if we could get them to Ames and afford them.

Anthony Grant Dayton - 13 seasons at Head coach across VCU, Alabama, and Dayton, only 2 losing seasons. Took Kansas to overtime last year. Was an assistant for Billy Donovan at Florida, coached in NBA for Thunder as an assistant to Donovan 15-17 before returning to college. Recruits above his conference. Recruits Midwest, Mid Atlantic...The estimated $ to get him is high... rumors $3M

Dennis Gates - Cleveland State - Spent 8 years on staff with Leonard Hamilton at Florida State. Key recruiter in 4 straight top 15 recruiting classes at Florida State. Prior to Florida State worked at Marquette, Northern Illinois & Nevada. Assistant under Hamilton, Tom Crean, Ben Braun. Grew up in Chicago, played college ball at Cal. Horizon League coach of the year in the first year at Cleveland State, leading them to a 7-11 record which was the most since 2014. 17-7 this year and 1st place in Horizon. Affordable for comparable or less $ than Prohm.

Wildcard -Micah Shrewsberry Purdue Assistant. Credited with much of Purdue's current offensive success and highly regarded recruiter. Been at Purdue since 2019, prior to that he coached for 3 years under Brad Stevens during their run and then at Celtics since 2013 where he was their summer league coach. Coached at very small schools before job as an assistant at Butler. Not a huge fan of hiring assistants, but Micah's credentials make me think he is at least worth an interview. Probably will have more than one P6 option this year.
