The Fran fade

If people want to argue that February Fade or whatever is a bad name, fine. But look at these the last 3 years.

2019-2020: Lost 3 of the last 4 to end the year.

2018-2019: Lost 5 of the last 6 to end the year.

2017-2018: Lost 6 of the last 7 to end the year.

It is so dumb really. I mean I get ISU fans trotting this out, but I am surprised that so many Iowa fans are really stupid enough to believe this garbage as well. The fact is Fran is a 50%-60% Big10 winning % coach over 11 years. Going .500 in Feb doesn't constitute a "fade". Now going 1-8 and 2-6 yeah, those years are Fades.
I 100% agree, which is why I said the whole February thing doesn't work out well. The season does not end in February, however.

They'd both get looks I'm sure. I don't think there's been A LOT of joy with either idea, mostly because they are "safe."
Here was my initial ideas:
That's a good list Anthony Grant might be my favorite in it.
Gregg Marshall is probably still untouchable right?
I wonder if Jeff hornacek would get a serious look. Would think he might be cheaper too if cost is a factor

What is your confidence level in Pollard to make a good hire? So far he is only 1 for 3 with two really, really bad basketball hires.

Larranaga is in his 70s now and the program is declining, so I've assumed Miami would come calling for Grant.
I think Marshall has to sit a few years. Like I said, I could see Ford getting another shot somewhere, and StL would be a good landing spot for Marshall.
The Rockets have been playing some brutally bad basketball lately, and Horny is on the bench there. Have no idea what his future would be.

Last year is a bit of a stretch. I'll give you that.

The year before that though where Iowa lost 5 of 6 100% counts as fading.

You know what though.. I think having the best player in the nation two years in a row has clouded a ton of your fan's judgement of him. It was just a couple of years ago where there were people absolutely furious that he was extended. I'll let you go to battle for the man.

Current year, No Fade

'19-'20 As you said you trying to say that is a Fade is BS, no fade there
'18-19 Faded
'17-'18 was a bad team, not Fade, just bad all year.
'16-'17 Closed strong
'15-'16 Faded
'14-'15 Closed Strong
'13-'14 Faded
'12-'13 Closed Strong

I mean trying to make the case that Fran's teams Fade is just dumb. They closed strong 3 years, they faded 3 years, and they held court the other years. I mean it is just the normal ebb and flow of basketball really.

It will start getting really kinky when they begin explaining what they do to trophies.

Yeah I can't argue with you really there. I'd agree it's about a flip of a coin whether the team finishes strong or not.

He got injured and didn't play part of the 2nd half. Trying to reach and say we played better without Bolton is dumb though, considering we looked the same exact way we have all year without him on the floor. Bad, discombobulated and hectic.
ISU shot 57% from the floor in the 2nd half and had less turnovers.

At U of M you can get kicked out if you use the wrong gender/title that the person prefers. (I mean seriously, how do you know 100% what people want to be and you can make an honest mistake) so he wrote his as an iPhone charger so basically everyone except those who would know him would mess up.
Ah, that brings back High School memories.
