The Fran fade

He also gets away with several offensive fouls and travels that they don't call. 100% of the time, he is the one initiating contact yet he gets most of the calls. I don't have any problem with how he plays, he is just the last person anyone should think doesn't get calls. It's the game he's choosing to play.

when you are posting up it’s gonna be bumping and physical.. it’s like holding in fball.. happens most every play but isn’t called unless they tds obvious

Luka is an incredibly physical player and the only way you can stop him is if you get physical back. There then lies the problem because what are referees supposed to do? Call an offensive or defensive foul every other play?

I have no issue with Luka bullying through people down low, just like I don't have an issue with guys hounding Luka down low. Luka is also very crafty with how he "chicken wings" guys. It's sometimes tough to call and actually should've been called last night when he ended up traveling late in the game.

What I don't understand is how refs don't call him for the elbow he constantly throws into guys' ribs. I saw it 4 times last night and was shocked he got away with it.
I would mostly agree with this

16th by per game. With how much he has the ball on the block I'd expect him and cockburn to be higher
Garza shoots a ton of FT's lol. My point was that people shouldn't be whining about him not getting the calls.

Shaq was a rim runner with a dominating defensive game to boot. He rarely stepped outside the paint and sometimes Luka will be setting screens up at the 18' mark.

Shaq had oop after oop in his career too. Something that isn't in the Iowa playbook much.
I'm certainly not comparing them as players but just how referees allow more contact witb each player. Yes i do agree garza initiates a fair portion too as did Shaquille but the rules are changed

Jorbo = Steph Curry
Garza = Shaq

Remind me again how a team this stacked isn't getting a 1-seed?

I would say Shaq took way more hits that were not called that are actually called for Luka's benefit. I don't think it's the other way around if you're inferring that.
Luka's great no doubt. And hey, if he's hooking or elbowing, and they refs aren't calling it, why stop?

Kind of weird how times evolve. Not the same - but a lot of players now have a "Euro step." Harden has a brilliant move that A TON of people think is a travel but when I watch him closely, he really isn't.

What do you disagree with if I may ask?
It's not that i disagree but the reason luka often throws the elbow you speak of is because guys are pushing him with their body and or hands and Lukas fighting for that same space. Luka has probably elbowed 30 guys in the face in career maybe more. Almost all get looked at by review. I'm not sure 1 has been deemed flagrant. Reason is that when you look at his elbows guys are getting right up on him again often bodying him or shoving him and Lukas just making a move towards the hoop.

Iowa will sandwich a 20+ point beatdown of Nebby in between being on the receiving end of 20+ beatdowns to Michigan and Ohio State. Got to take out Fran's rage on the hapless Huskers.

These next three games for Iowa are critical in how they'll be seeded in the Big 10 Tournament. Depending on how a few different teams do, Iowa could get anywhere from 2nd to 6th.

Somehow I ended up watching quite a bit of the second half of OSU-MSU game.

As physical a game as I've seen in awhile. (only hope of MSU winning)

Did MSU play different players against Iowa?

Why'd they roll over when they played them?

I woule agree shaq is the poster child of taking hits it was just a comparison. I think if Luka was on Iowa state you would be upset he doesn't shoot 12 free throws a game. Its all about perception you see the elbows i see the mauling on the other end.
