Garza is not only NPOY but he’s prob best offensive player in over a decade.. When you have that and another all conf player in JW plus a 45% shooter in CJ... you better be in position to win the big ten especially given Mich st..is not good this year..
if Iowa goes 3-4 last 7 games they might just end up a 7 seed..
Iowa still can make a run.. tourney is a crap shoot and all blue bloods are awful this year.

Imagine Fizer defending Garza. Garza should trying shoving but get nowhere, then Marcus would block the ball right back into his face.
What else is BoBo going to do? He's not going to the NBA, or the G league for that matter. He can put off his medical equipment sales job by a year. He'll be back, and will be putting his signed parking tickets on the Hilton floor instead of shoes next season.
Bigger mismatch would be Fizer on offense. Garza is probably one of the more dominant offensive college big guys I've seen, but he gets torched on D be some players that are nowhere near Soph/Jr Fizer's level.
It was a huge recruiting score and success for Fran. The entire rest of the program is basically family members, legacy family members, and kids who grew up fans of Kirk Ferentz Iowa football teams.
Are these season stats for Connor a glitch? This is a 4th year Junior who has started for 3 seasons?

You might be able find some 3-4 year starters who only scored 5-8 points a game...but they'd be getting more than 4 assists a game. Just any 3rd year starter averaging under 4 points a game is so bizarre.

I don't see him giving up another chance to play ISU. Maybe he retires after that game...again.
Jacy actually could play, as well as shoot. That just wasn’t his role on those teams.

With them running out of gas if this season with Garza doesn't go somewhere you'd have to point to nepotism as a key factor.
Weiskamp is obviously doing fine and Nunge seems like a great glue guy to have next to an AA but Garza should open things up more for more than just one or two players.
Somebody in this thread actually said they'd be in the dance without Garza and JW.

Why wouldnt he? He is a lifelong Hawkeye. What else is he going to do. He also wasnt to collect his $1.00 from the new NIL rule.
Because they’re not very good. Pathetically overrated as usual. Got a crazy ridiculous pre-season ranking out of literally no where (they showed absolutely nothing to make anyone logically believe they were close to a Top 5 much less Top 15 type team), and they are still riding that laughably BS ranking somehow still into November. They’ll go win some and lose more down the stretch because that’s just who they are; a middle of the road team that “can get hot on offense” (like 50 other teams in CBB) that plays little defense and has a bunch of slow guys anyway. These losses shouldn’t surprise anyone.

He has to think about joining the work force. If he hangs around much longer he runs the risk of being too old to get hired for a lot of jobs.
Some people like to go make money. I’m not saying he’s going to go make money playing basketball(although I think he could overseas) but he’s like 25. Most people want to get a career started by that age .
