Iowa Football Recruiting

I don't get why you think he won't continue to be good. You are the same guy who probably said we couldn't replace Montgomery, Lazard, Butler, etc
I just said that he probably will. But if you think that means perennial top 10 I would disagree. I also think that next year is possible jumping off point for him. Not saying that he will but I think there is a pretty decent chance.

Why would he leave after next year?

What makes you think he could be jumping off after next year?

I'm assuming unless your season is a huge disappointment that the losses will be big after next season. Doubt a lot of guys will hang around to play a 5th year. You think Purdy, Hall and Kolar come back for 2022? LBs and safeties?

ISU will likely return a lot in 2022, but of course you won’t want to admit it.

Plus, who actually knows who will use the extra year?

I think the pipeline is stocked to replace all those positions.

Funny you're worried about our replacement QB in 2022 when your returning starter for 2021 flat out sucks.

And how is Iowa going to do next season after having to replace those who left this past season?

Iowa doesn’t rebuild to finish 2nd or 3rd in their division. they reload to finish 2nd or 3rd in their division
It'd be one thing if Campbell inherited a bunch of 4 and 5 star players and did well with them. He recruited these guys, most of them being middle of the pack recruits. If he thinks the only reason we're good now is because Campbell caught lightning in a bottle, good for him. A lot college AD's and NFL executives disagree.

I understand. I wouldn’t want to admit it either.

i don’t live in the Iowa anymore, I didn’t follow their recruiting, just what twins c4l posts. I was mistaken on all those commitments.

other than the dm East kid, were any of them black?

You do not follow Iowa recruiting but posted as fact that they had more commits than decommits since the racial issues were uncovered?

Hilson was the only one of the last 4 commits that is black.

It is weird you judge recruits on their skin color. I do not even look at that. I think offers and recruiting ratings are much more important than the color of their skin.

What big losses?

I'm not sure what Indiana loses on defense but Ramsey/Scott backfield on O is very similar to Purdy/Hall.
Tanner Morgan > Brock Purdy end of story. They are reasonably comparable accuracy wise but Morgan has a much stronger arm and quicker release.
Maybe we should kick the tires on Petras before conceding the "All-Iowa" QB position to Purdy?

And how is Iowa going to do next season after having to replace those who left this past season?

Iowa had 9 combined guys leave early for the NFL after the 2017-2019 seasons. Since then, the Hawkeyes have won over 73% of their games. Until the wins start to drop it seems premature to assume the Iowa program is in shambles.
