Matt Campbell vs Hayden Fry

How would I know? We won the Regular Season Conference Championship and finished #9

Would you rather win the RSCC, or win the Big12 Conference Championship next year and break OU what 5-6 year streak on winning the conference?

Tough question. To win the Regular Season Conference Championship next year we would probably have to run the table and that would be hard to turn down

But then you don't win the Big12 Championship and would obviously miss the playoffs as well after having a perfect regular season. I'm told that is a dog**** year going undefeated and losing in your CCG.

If we lose the postseason game in Dallas and go to another NY6 bowl that would be a great season. What are you talking about? Our schedule is going to be brutal next year

So the RSCC trumps everything. Got it. You wouldn't trade your RSCC for OU's Big12 Conference Championship.

Depends on the year. This year I would have yes but then you would have spent all off season talking about how we destroyed a depleted Florida team in the Cotton Bowl instead of saying we beat an Oregon team who was only barely better than Wisconsin

What’s this “regular season conference championship” you speak of?

I went back an analyzed every lose CMC has had in the last 4 years, insanely close loses. 75% of it is due to the offense failing in crucial stretches of the game and the rest is Special teams.

Weird part, the last three years, the offense was run by one of the best QBs based on stats in the history of ISU football.

It is a made up ISU title born of a ESPN ticker update.
That’s not made up but a factual thing based on an 8-1 conference record that you will not let go because it drives you so crazy that you have to come here day after day trying to tell us otherwise.

Did you then consider the offensive line in front of him?

Is this how hoks think? Do you start out every year negotiating with yourself on what is the easiest path to some bragging right?

ISU is beyond that. If the program wants to move forward it is winning this AND that, not this OR that. Or gets you Nashville or Memphis. AND gets you Dallas and CFP.

Was this a great year for ISU, yep. Do we want more, yep.

It absolutely KILLS Iowa fans that Iowa State did this with a round robin schedule and didn't have the luxury of dodging the top team. Beating teams with winning records is also a big kick in their shorts.

I doubt many of them wear pants while in their moms basements.... carry on though.

QB is very good, but often doesn't come through in the clutch.

Just shows we need to open the dang checkbook. The guy spoke with Detroit and ultimately chose to stay here, just tells me after next season he will be more serious about looking. We need to pay the guy $5 mil a year. The amount of money the school will make off of him will pay for that 10 fold.

In one score games, there are often 3-6 plays throughout the course of the game that can be pointed to for the loss. It is more complex than analyzing a play or two in a final drive. ISU's offense was just fine this year.

Improve one thing this year - special teams - this was a one loss team.

Not sure if you are saying Purdy has failed in critical situations but he has been responsible for giving the team many more chances to win than he has cost them.

I would hope that Hawkeye and Cyclone fans can (mostly) agree that this is one of the dumbest threads/thread titles here. and that's saying something
