Iowa Football Recruiting

I'll do this if I was an Iowa fan.

Wegher because of the flameout when he had legit talent
I don't wanna say suck but he probably didn't have high expectations: Weisman. He held down the fort during the AIRBHG
Pierschbacher

Wegher that isnt a name I have heard forever. Wonder what he is up to? probably 7 baby mamas.

He's honestly the type of guy that could have really used AAF/XFL if they were stable organizations that lasted. He was talented for sure.

Maybe I did it wrong but I was only talking about how much I wanted that kid as a recruit. Melvin Gordon would be the easy choice for Iowa fans if we are looking at this after the fact considering how much he produced at WI.

He was a 4* prospect but wasnt a top 250 kid nationally. Iowa has been close to landing much higher rated kids than Gordon that I was more excited about as recruits.
Just making a note on the kid.

Didn’t RS and barely played his first year.

One of the best LB trio’s in CFB heading into 2021.

Could be worse.
That’s something both in state teams will have. ISU has a great one in Rose, Vance and Hummel. Iowa has one that looked very good at the end of the season with Niemann, Campbell, and Benson. I think Jestin Jacobs will help take our LB unit to the next level this season.

I didn’t even mention Vaughn, Horne & Davis who all played key snaps rotationally.

Cole Pedersen played on special teams this year as a true freshman.

There’s a great trio starting and a solid trio behind them.

I've got a few questions for the HOKs (@CyHawk1605 @Rebel @TRYHARDER )

Who is your favorite Hok recruit of all time?
Who is the most overrated Hok recruit of all time?
Who is the Hok recruit you thought would suck who was actually good?
Who is the recruit that you wanted the most that didn't come to Hok?

(my guesses: Epenesa, Doering, Wadley, Theo Johnson)
Really trying to make this “HOK” thing stick aren’t ya?

Favorite recruit: Tony Moeaki (the Army AA Bowl in 2005 was the most excitement I have ever felt for Iowa recruiting)

Overrated: Dan Doering

Thought would suck: Mike Daniels

Wanted the most but chose elsewhere: Cyrus Kouandjio

These are excellent answers. I may sub Epenesa in for Moeaki, but when Moeaki and Dace committed together on TV at the All-American game was awesome!

Iowa has some solid young pieces as well. Jay Higgins has received a lot of praise as a guy who could potentially compete for a role this next season. Of course Jacobs and Colbert will compete for the WLB spot. I’ve also heard from someone in the know, that Jaden Harrell might be competing for a spot next year. He’s told me that he is one of the most physically gifted prospects he’s seen come out of this state in a while. And Iowa also has Twedt and Sullivan coming in ho look to have promising futures (And yes Twins, I know you think they both suck).

Niemann is not coming back. Do you know how this whole college eligibility thing works?

I’m certainly not worried about ISU’s LB group for the foreseeable future.
