The stagnant offense is a Campbell thing. We just haven’t even looked more than 10 yards down field all half. Lots of lateral movement.

Oregon is selling out on early downs to stop the run. Forcing ISU into long passing downs. They blitz and we can’t make the play.
at some point Manning has to call a play action on first down and/or take a shot.
You can tell the plan now is to just hang on and kill clock and try to pull this thing out by going ultra conservative..... that's what we tend to do.

This is the Iowa Hawkeye special. Get ahead by a couple scores and then just try to grind it out by being extremely vanilla and boring. I made fun of the Hawkeyes for years for being this way, but it is a winning formula and i do enjoy winning
Gotta imagine Campbell said to get conservative to avoid mistakes. The way our defense is playing makes me think the best way for Oregon to get back is for our offense to make mistakes.
