8-4? Why all the hawkeyes I know say that 3 losses should disqualify a team. I guess they don’t count that bowl game then.Don't forget 8-4 Iowa in the 1982 Rose Bowl when Ronnie Harmon forgot to wipe the Christmas turkey grease from his fingers and they got cremated by UW 28-0.
They were 3-2 and shouldn’t have been eligible to play another game.
Honestly no Big10 or Pac12 teams deserve to be in NY6 bowls.
I cheated, sorta. That's their record after UW blew them out of the stadium. 8-3 going into the game including their loss to ISU.8-4? Why all the hawkeyes I know say that 3 wins should disqualify a team. I guess they don’t count that bowl game then.

I'm kind of torn. It's somewhat of a lose-lose scenario. How good/bad is Oregon? Not sure anyone knows. If we win, great and all, but this is a team that played 5 scrimmages and was only in their conference championship because someone else had to back out. Yes, I know, they won. Their level of pathetic season is worse than what we make fun of Iowa for. So, if we lose, that's embarrassing in a way, and undermines everything we've done this year. Just f***ing win, please.I'm happy with Oregon, they are beatable. I'm glad we aren't playing Cinnci or Florida

Yeah, it is funny though that we have the same record as they did and they say 3 losses should keep us out.

I can kind of get behind that. Still though, they were fortunate to even be playing for a Pac "Championship" I think it's dumb that they even consider them champions. What many don't seem to remember is what they were like at age 14-19. HS kids think Oregon has been a great team forever, (5-10 years if forever at that age), so by beating them, it is a bigger boost to the HS recruit than Northwestern or Indiana. It's name for HS kids and short attention span. Oregon is a nice team to be playing for recruiting.
The ones yammering on the wife's facebook or on the street just say no 3 loss team. They don't exclude autos. You are now trying to justify why it was ok for Iowa. Worse yet, that didn't include a CCG. That was straight up 3 losses during the regular season.Iowa wasn't an at large bid, they were an automatic qualifier for that bowl by winning the conference. Big difference. Much like Oregon is an automatic qualifier for being the Pac 12 Champ.

You need to add:But it is Iowa
They play in historic Kinnick Stadium
They discovered farmers
They can wave
They solved racism
The CFB universe revolves around them
FYI Mizzou will have multiple guys opting out (I know one has been announced) and Iowa will have at least one big name not playing
I'm happy with Oregon, they are beatable. I'm glad we aren't playing Cinnci or Florida
Corrected for accuracyIowa wasn't an at large bid, they were an automatic qualifier for that bowl by tying for the conference championship. Big difference. Much like Oregon is an automatic qualifier for being the Pac 12 Champ.
How many snaps have you seen Oregon play? I saw part of the Civil War and P12 Champ.Oregon definitely beatable. ISU would get beaten badly by UF. No idea on Cinci since I have not seen them play one snap.
Challenge accepted. Can you imagine if we could somehow pull that off...
