Marty & Miller's comments about coordinator changes

I realize Marty is an idiot but I caught part of their show this afternoon and they had a couple interesting comments/questions about the restructuring of the staff. First, when have you ever seen both coordinators replaced by a head coach in one year? Usually it is only one but not both. Second, when have you ever seen a coordinator retained at a school and reassigned to lesser responsibilities? Can anyone recall either of these happening at a BCS school?

Personally, I do not know what to think of this move. I do think something had to be done. I think this year's defense was the worst I have ever seen at ISU. McFarland deserved to get demoted for his simple inability to get plays in. It is obvious that Chizik made a mistake when he gave his buddies coordinator jobs. When he originally named his staff, I think there was some concern about these guys but we all had faith in Chizik. I give him credit for manning up to his mistakes and making a change but that is a very critical mistake for the CEO of a organization. I just get concerned about starting with a new offense and defense in year 3. Perhaps because McFarland and Bolt are still here it will be seamless. Chizik's succes or failue at ISU is completely dependent upon getting his coordinators right this time around.

This should have been the end of the post.

I did love their rant about Jake Sullivan... Didn't hear this rant though. No biggie.

Did anyone notice how good the Jon Miller show was today?? Thats the best I have heard from that show in a long time...

I realize Marty is an idiot (good, good...) but I caught part of their show this afternoon (ooooh, uh oh....) and they had a couple interesting comments/questions (total credibility loss) about the restructuring of the staff.

Some thoughts as I read your post are in italics.

Why...was it dead air, or a constant loop of that annoying Emergency Broadcasting System announcement?

Excellent guesses, but not quite. However, you are correct to suspect there was something different. Hint: You may also rule out Christmas music preempting the show.

Hmmm...this is fun. I like guessing games.

Was it Baha Men-Greatest Hits Day??

No.... I don't believe... He's been posting here all day. Check the coaching threads.

Also, Baha men are out of the question... Gotta ask... For their greatest hits, do you just play Who Let the Dogs Out on loop.

If you haven't heard some of their "deep cuts" you're missing out.

OK, next guess...

Howler monkeys in a mass-mating festival?

Another excellent effort. However, still not correct. Next hint: It did not involve any testing on animals.

Side note: Check out the Baha Men station on Slacker internet radio. Outstanding.

I was going to go with whale farts, but that involves animals.

This kind of does, too, but I'm desperate...

Was it an audio recording of my incontinent, flatulent, Uncle Stu eating mashed up peas and slobbering on himself?

Isn't this just a regular Jon Miller show?

Closer, but you are still cold. Think of Uncle Stu in his prime, prior to his uncontrollable flatulence with decent bladder control. Not sure about the slobbering.
