Iowa Football Recruiting

Campbell is not leaving. Everybody knows that.

I don't know why he would. He could stay at ISU another 20 years and make close to $100 million over that time. If he went to Michigan or something, he might make $30 million before being fired after three or four years and then labeled damaged goods.

Sure he won't ever win a national championship at ISU, but who cares. He can still become a legend at ISU and make the CFB HOF.

Is iowa done recruiting this class?

Thought this was about people decommitting and to answer that, they may not be done yet. Just a hunch. We've talked on hear for page about how troll think everything is rosy, but until they sign, you just never know.

Nice try with the subtle dig.

But you are probably right, odds of any program not named Alabama, ND or Clemson are pretty low. 3 spots are pretty well assigned every year with a dozen or so capable teams chasing the 4th. So chances for non royalty making the playoffs is 5-10% before the season even starts. And that is just to make the playoffs.

The chance of that team winning the playoffs isn't any different. 4th seed probably has a 5-10% chance to win it.

So your take on him not winning the national title is probably right but not really startling. If Campbell stayed at ISU for 10 years, give a 1 in 3 chance of winning it all.

Still

He can certainly make a run at the playoffs at ISU. He can win multiple conference titles at ISU.

And most importantly.

His chances to win a National Title at ISU are certainly better than anyone named Ferentz winning one at Iowa.

Seven 4* players according to 247 and five 4* players according to Rivals.

Now to fill in the rest of the class with the KF/Phil Parker diamonds in the rough and I love this class.
Rivals has turned into a joke. It used to be so good too

I can't believe he didn't do that last year with Covid and everything.
No one knew it was going to blow up into this. I think a lot of us were shocked when tourneys were actually getting cancelled. I know I was.

I watch enough NBA to know he probably doesn't have much of a shot there but I didn't think Justin Hamilton did either and he had a decent cup of coffee. I think Luka could have a really nice overseas career, that's for sure.

What is the argument here? Iowa has nobody to develop players? Is that not the job of ever member of every staff in America? Seems like salty nuts that Iowa has a great 2021 class and ISU does not. Pretty simple.

I find it hilarious how Doyle was once "the best in the business" and now he's replaceable? Feel free to search my history but I'm on the record more than once stating that Doyle > Kirk. Kirk is the face of the program but Doyle developed and built it. If you don't think player development is going to drop off you are nuts.

It used to be the best in the business and now it's not even close to 247

I am asking how though. Why, in your opinion, has it turned in to a joke and now lags behind 247?

I am good with it though. 247 has Iowa with a top 20 class right now and seven 4* prospects.

I'm not sure I don't work for either company. My assumption would be 247 invested more money into their product but that's just a guess
