Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Over the last 20 years for ISU:

With Fred coaching or majority of Freds recruits ISU made 6 consecutive NCAA tournaments.

Without Fred coaching or Freds recruits ISU made 3 NCAA tournaments in 14 years.
And an Elite 8, two REGULAR SEASON conference titles, five conference tournament championships, and 2 Sweet 16’s- the only one of those that IA can match is two conference tourney championships under Slick Alford.

Why stop at 25 years? Iowa and isu have been playing for longer than that. Or must we pick and choose what does and doesn’t count so clone fans feel ok?
The Hawks pretty much owned everything before 1985- too long ago for me to research the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s- and TBH, most don’t really care about that era...when Johnny started to turn it in ‘85, the series and rivalry has become pretty even. It shifted towards ISU when IA ran out a first class coach and good person in TD in ‘99- which just so happens to be your last trip past the 1st weekend of the NCAA’s. Since then Iowa has had two not very good people as coaches and one guy who just wasn’t a good fit. IA has two conference tourney championships to show for those 3 coaches and never past the round of 32. Meanwhile ISU has an Elite 8, two Sweet 16’s, two regular season titles, and five conference tourney titles in the same period. And no, it’s not all Fred’s doings. Nobody has ran away with this rivalry since ‘85 but to say that ISU hasn’t been consistently stronger since TD is naive. Yes the Hawks has last year- one year- congrats.

Just curious, what makes Fran not a very good person?

You can do good acts and still be a bad person. They don’t necessarily have to go hand in hand or negate each other.
Even the best of the best like Calipari can have a foundation and donate millions (he does) and be a scumbag.

What has he done to be called a scum bag other then the OSU ref fiasco. Sure he loses his temper but nothing really beyond that.

You can yell at officials and still be a good person. They don’t necessarily have to go hand in hand or negate each other.

Again, he chased down an official and point blank questioned his integrity of the game. That's not yelling at an official.
