All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Well they probably feel like Iowa will end up with a decent record considering half the teams in the Big 10 have lost their best player to sitting out.

Interesting point. ISU not having to play Iowa probably factored into their #25 ranking for the same reason.

Not going to blame any player for sitting out to protect the draft stock and future money he's worked his ass off to earn.

I know you're responding to someone else.. but Iowa nor Iowa State got ranked because of the record they "could" have due to their schedule. It has nothing to do with that lol. Iowa got ranked because they've been consistently ranked so they have respect, and they are bringing back some nice pieces. Iowa State is ranked because we've earned some respect these past few years and we're bringing back the majority of our team from last year, including a highly touted QB.

More to do with Purdy than anything else. Not that there aren't other good players back but the focus is Purdy.

I agree. Really fortunate for Iowa that this season they don’t have anybody highly regarded enough by the NFL that they can sit out like all these other Big 10 teams.

When you're averaging a 1st round pick every other year in the NFL draft like Iowa has for the past decade, obviously there will be the occasional year where your first guy taken goes in the 2nd.

You'll start to understand soon I'm sure, things look to be picking up for you guys.

Pretty sure Linderbaum and Alaric Jackson would never have to play another snap at Iowa and still get drafted in 2021

I mean Linderbaum and Alaric Jackson are pretty highly rated.

Neither of those guys have high enough stock to sit out this season and still get drafted very high. That is all I was saying. Linderbaum because he plays a low value position and Jackson because his stock took a hit last year and needs to play to prove his the prospect from 2018 not 2019.
