Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Yeah CJ isn't going to come back until he's 100% that's for sure. He's battled injuries his whole career at Iowa and isn't one to tough it out if he isn't feeling perfect
Purdy got hurt during the WVU game.. He played his best game 3 weeks later against OU where he threw 5 TD's and ran for 55 yards and a TD.

Totally speculating, but I'm guessing Bohannon plays 15-20mpg as a bench gunner this season. That way they can better hide what total liability he is on defense after double hip replacement surgery... not that he was even good before at it.
No chance that happens

Nope. Honest question, do you have any friends besides your keyboard?

Yes.

Judging by the nicknames you have made up and your inability to engage in any type of meaningful conversation about the topic that is being discussed, I didn't think you could have been older than 15 or 16 years old.

Well buddy boy, good thing this is around

Hhhhmmmmm........looking at the players there......hhhmmmmmm......

We laugh because Iowa's defense is bad. Bad defense doesn't win championships, no matter how good the offense. It's unrealistic for Iowa to win a championship in the same way it was for ISU under Fred. The national media is feeding the hype just the same they did for us a handful of years ago. Don't buy it.

This is the truth. All you have to do is look back to last year any time they played an up tempo, athletic team. DePaul and Purdue exhibits A and B. Boatraced.

Iowa was 77th in the nation in adjusted tempo last season. Purdue was 333rd.
Which makes the 104-68 final score even worse- nobody had double figures besides LG. And, in a rebuilding/down year for Purdue, they won by 9 at Carver also. Painter could coach circles around Fran with one hand tied to his b...s.

Cool story.

It's pretty well known that Purdue whipped us twice last season.

Here's another cool story- that defensive-minded coach out in Lincoln held IA to 70- LG had 16 (quiet night for him), JW had 21...on 23 shots- wow! and JT has 14...on 18 shots. Maybe Fran should do a coaching video on efficient offense.

Using Nebraska basketball for ammo? I knew Prohm wrecked the ISU program but I didn't know it was this bad.

As long as you keep coming on a rivals site trying to tell us how great a season it was, I’ll use Nebraska or whatever other facts I need to remind you that your Hawks weren’t as great as you thought.

I’ll go through this one more time- please pay attention Charlie. Yes- IA beat ISU in Hilton and, for like the 2nd time in the last 21 years, were clearly better than ISU. There- we cleared that up. After that, your best wins were over Maryland (there is no more Jekyll and Hyde team in CBB) and Penn State, both in Carver. IA beat several other average to good teams- Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and TT. All but Tech were also in Carver. There was not one great true road win. AND, the Hawks lost to 7-25 Nebraska; .500 DePaul shellacked them in the house of horrors, CHA; and lost 2x to 10th place Purdue. GREAT teams don’t do that- Michigan State doesn’t do that. I know- it is so exciting to think the Hawks were almost there- but they really weren’t.

Hawk trolls. Iowa gave up what to Michigan? 100? What would they have scored if bobo was still playing? 130?

And Iowa still ended up 50 spots better in KenPom’s defensive efficiency metric. Crazy how awful Iowa State was last year.

Yeah, we were bad. We admit that. You guys think you were final four material for some strange reason. You guys really focus on us. Glad you have a game that means a lot when you can win. We have Kansas and you have us.
