Let the investigation play out. DJK and Wadley both were disciplined for actions they chose to take. Sorry if I dont trust them at face value. They are trying to get paid. If they deserve to get paid so be it but time will tell.

LOL at that investigation. They're going to do what their funding source wants them to do. Doyle is the scapegoat and Ferentz had no idea any of this was going on. Iowa is going to sweep this under the rug just like rhabdo. And I'm not just saying iowa is the only school that would do something like this...a LOT of schools would try to bury this whole thing and spin it. Everyone has their high paying jobs to protect.

Yes we all know that Kirk isn't paid by the State but it's a bad look when he's technically the highest paid State employee, his son is on scholly, and he did that.
If Rhoads kid would have done it, it would have been dumb too.

And if you want to bring courts into it, Kirk was called as a witness in Jane Meyer's trial and Kirk heavily influences what goes on.....

DJK might have been a dumb dumb in college and even after but from what I saw recently from him (with his wife, family, job) it looks like he's attempted to grow up.

Well Wadley was ripping people off as recently as last year. DJK has started to come around but he also spent a lot of time blaming some of his shortcomings on the university. No one made him test positive for marijuana and cocaine.

Actually it was most likely illegal for BF to be living there. I have asked my accountant if my son could go on his own and he would be illegal for grants and better financial aid. My accountant said it is pretty tough for a family to make that break, especially one that has at least middle income status.

BTW, for those that don't know, Deshaunte Jones is selling clothing. My son ordered and received his hoodie in about three weeks. So there are former players looking to start their own businesses if people are looking to help out another cyclone.

Your accountant is wrong. If you are an adult with a clean record and you have earned income less than average, you are going to qualify. They cant ask you if your relatives have income. That's different than financial aid or Grant's. It's been going on for years. Plenty of baseball players on partial schollies lived there even though their families had money. It's taking advantage of the system but not illegal.

This isn’t a trial in the criminal defense system, it’s an investigation of systemic racism inside a football program. The burden of proof is much lower and trying to smear accusers in the court of public opinion is something that is way beneath a state university.

I love how some of you are willing to ignore the fact that this guy ripped off fans to the extent they were pursuing felony charges against him. I'm sorry if I'm not going to trust him at his word. I'm going to let the investigation play out. If Akrum Wadley will steal from fans, he will pursue a civil action law suit under false pretenses. That's not racist.

You can NOT be claimed as a dependent by anyone. The idea of a dependent is providing significant support for them. Like, if KF paid back any of the rent for the apartment, that would definitely classify him as a dependent. It generally takes a person graduating college and being on their own if they are in college at any time.

Back in the 90s I was on a board for a low income housing project, so I understand that timeframe well. They can ask for a copy of your tax returns to prove your income. If you aren't filing independently then you are ineligible. How they got by with it back then was too often the owners were allowed to self police the individuals in the apartments. I remember we learned of an individual that had invited a boyfriend to live with her, we had to inform her that either he left or most likely they both would be leaving due to the income going over the limit. We were a non-profit and took it seriously. Sounds like there was some shady deals that were being made with the athletic department at Iowa if what you say is true.

I'm guessing that one person was able to get qualified and then their buddies moved in, illegally of course, and they had a landlord who looked the other way.

Agree. The damage has been done. Over 50 players have come out and made accusations against KF and his coaches... and it goes back a long ways.

KF has done quite a few shady things in his tenure. Rhabdo was an awful situation, and KF showed little to no remorse over that and instead gave Doyle a newly made up award. If I were a parent of one of those kids that nearly lost their life, I would have been furious with how that was handled.

And then KF tried to cover up a rape. That was also a terrible look.

And now we've come to find out how KF and his coaches have treated black players over the past few decades, and it's not pretty. And they have already admitted it happened by paying off Doyle to shut up and walk away.

So go ahead and support your beloved KF and his dirty program all you want, and brag on here about his recruiting class too..... but most of us don't give a s**t. If you want to support that kind of program.... go right ahead.

The Iowa fans I see hear want the investigation. If the investigation proves systemic racism from top down, clean house. If it proves Brian is racially insensitive, let him go. They are entitled to due process. Sorry, if I don't accept Akrum Wadley's word or DJK's word at face value. They have both done things in their past that make their word questionable. They are not a accusing KF of anything. The rest of this is just opinion and not supported by facts and investigations. If this investigation finds evidence Kirk was involved he should be gone.
