Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

If you listen to the Dochterman and Moorehouse podcast it really does seem that they constantly hear from the Iowa coaches or fans if they cover anything negative about Iowa. The feeling that the media is afraid of Iowa seems pretty true right now. Look what happened to Rob Howe?

There's no race involved in this, but how sad is it to hear in that Facebook video that Brian Ferentz, in a position group meeting, told the guys that he hated a certain player and wished that he would just get injured.

"He didn't say he wanted him to get seriously injured though" - @Brodie0

I grew up in SW Iowa, Husker country, this 100% reminds me of how they used to protect Osborne. It's basically a cult and they'll do anything to stay included. It's the perfect recipe for things to get out of hand like we are seeing in IC.

This is my local station I usually listen to on my way home from work in Iowa City. I'm not sure how they got thistype of interview over Chris and Ross to be honest. KGYM though is an ESPN radio outfit, so anything juicy would likely get national replay.

Its gonna go over real well, the majority of their callers are Hawk Homers, with the occasional UNI and ISU fan mixed in.

How any media in this state can defend KF and think he can continue as HC is simply just biased reporting to save Iowa fball.

LE was hammered by media in this state for doing far less

Tiger King going down was the rage 3 months ago. Tiger Hawk going down may be the next big thing.

Anyone with any sense who has listened to Brian Ferentz speak for 5 minutes or has otherwise observed him in public has to understand that he is a complete *******. So the sad part is NOT that it is surprising.

No clue how you listen to this show.

I half-hearted listen to the McNutt interview. I don't understand why he feels KF can fix this. He is the guy that has allowed this to happen so he should now get the opportunity to fix it? That makes no sense to me.

He did also say several of his teammates don't think he can.

I know that I keep going back to this, but look back at how the fans and the media of Penn State reacted when individuals started accusing Sandusky and Joe Paterno. It was crazy how loyal they all stayed to them. They blamed everyone but Paterno. Didn't want to even think of the possibility that Paterno could do such a thing. The President of Penn State even called the allegations not credible because nothing had been corroborated at that time!

I understand the context of these situations are different but the basic model of someone in power knowingly providing a gateway for disgusting things to happen under himself is the exact same. The person in power admitting he knew nothing is the same. People blaming the victims is the same. Media refusing to talk badly about the historic "good guy" coach is the same.

I think there are enough data points to establish that Kirk is NOT going to change....

FYI their producer has done some work for Hawkeye Nation recently. Considering what happened to Howe yesterday, it wouldn't surprise me if the message was sent to Murph and Andy to take in easy on KF.

Murph and Andy aren't going to burn the bridge... It took them YEARS to get Kirk on their show and I doubt they are going to risk losing that.

Highly Likely - Doyle is Gone
Less than Likely - BF is gone
Very unlikely - Kirk is gone

Thinking out loud here...but it's worth remembering here that Brian "reports" to Barta. This was a laughable formality before but could be an interesting card for Barta to play here. He could fire Brian for cause and there wouldn't be anything Kirk could do about it. Hell, Kirk might even throw a tantrum and resign himself.

It would be an interesting way for Barta to take back some control of his football program, particularly while Kirk is wounded, and eliminate that thorny problem of Kirk angling for Brian to take over when he retires. Plus it would show the world (recruits, in particular) they're serious about this and will actually do something painful to make things right.

It'll never happen but it would be an interesting play.

Bunker Barta doesn’t even have the balls to make a statement or show his face, don’t expect much from him unless he’s forced by BOR.
