Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

So, if Iowa has had three black starters in the past 40 years, that's great and the tweet was off. BTW, who are they, for the record.

I just think using the race of starting QBs as a metric for this is stupid.

Pete Gales, Brad Banks, and Jason Manson. Manson wasn't a regular starter, but started a few games, so I included him since the data point was black QBs who've started more than one game.

So how many complaints does it need to be before it counts?

It's not like it was one or two things where you could chalk it up to ignorance or a person who needs some sensitivity training...this is a patter over many years/teams. Not sure how this isn't concrete to some.

Has anyone read both Morehouse and Hlas' articles in the CR Gazette? Morehouse I think was pretty fair in his. Hlas' seemed a lot more pro KF to me.... not terribly so, but yet seemed to definitely give KF the benefit of the doubt for sure.
I agree. I was a little disapointed in Hlas' article also.

I think what we need to learn right now is racism can also be many microagressions and a culture of not feeling valued. If the culture
Kirk needs to be fired today or tomorrow?

This might be the most damanaging yet.

As the national media picks this up, when, and how, do they reference Frans lineups being significant outliers from most other NCAA teams? It starts to look like the whole school has a 19th century mindset.

It also embarasses me as an Iowan.

They should fire Barta, hire that ISU AD guy that went to UNI, David Harris, and rebuild the entire athletic department. Just too many issues over there.

The whole University needs a clean slate. Everything from Modern Piping to Jane Meyer to AIB to where we are today and a lot in between.

It gets worse and worse for kirk

I’ve been kind of down on college athletics ever since Titus and Tate’s podcast on college basketball. They would have stories from managers. There are too many coaches who get off on the control they have over their student-athletes.

This isn't going away, more continue to speak out. Regardless if Kirk stays or goes the damage from just a recruiting standpoint is going to hurt them for awhile.

I live so close to Iowa City and there are stories about many coaches in the community not always acting the best. Never anything but positive stories about Ferentz. It's really surprising and heartbreaking. I feel for those players.
