This just seems inappropriate to tweet at this point.

Eh its news and he should be reporting the news. I just hate that he has to point out the coach is black. I mean I get why given the state of current events but seems like its counter productive to what is trying to be achieved.

Holy **** dogg. I OD’ed in a dispensary gummy last night and thought I was just high dreaming that this thread was real. Not only is the thread real but the situation is real. Damn.

Glen Worley spoke volumes on with that tweet.

The two white guy tweets were heartbroken about some spray painting, but haven't said anything about decades of years of killing black folks by police. Not surprised. They also cloak their tonedeafness in patriotism.

Stop the continual, constant police brutality, then some stupid statue won't get spray painted. It's that simple.

There is nothing wrong with being upset over a statue being vandalized. Sets a dangerous precedent to expect an antiracist comment thrown into each thought.

I think its despicable to spray paint Nile Kinnick's statue. I think that's way over the line.

Nah, **** it. Hit systemic racism where it hurts - their public image and their wallet. That statue can be replaced, but a huge part of these players’ identities and self-esteem was stolen.

I would say the same thing if it were happening here. The VEISHEA riots were stupid AF, they had no point. But if we find out that we are currently targeting and marginalizing an ethnic or racial group, and someone defaces the Campanile in protest? Shine a light, man.

Respect what you are saying but to me two wrongs don't make a right. Nile put his life on the line more than we will ever understand so we can have these discussions. Just my two cents. However Id hope they can clean the statue off and then maybe I can see what you are saying. At least makes people pause and realize this **** is real and to own up to it, listen, and be better with action.
