I honestly don't think anyone denies Goodson being good. The argument that he was better than Hall last year is just dumb. Also, when talking about carries and playing time, through the first 5 games of the season, Goodson had 40 carries to Hall's 18. Goodson had 14 receptions compared Hall's 0.

You know you would think this. What I have found though is that ISU fans talk as much crap or more while Iowa has been completely spanking them on the field and have the way more successful program over the last 5 years. You are a good case study in this actually.

Iowa has all that you mentioned in place for a long time and they have the wins to show for it.
Does going 7-6 really show the world isu has a competent OC? Or do clone fans just not have enough understanding of what a winning football program looks like? It makes sense that you don’t since isu is the only P5 school to have never won an outright football conference title in their entire history.

Nothing lucky about ISU special teams being terrible, they have been that way under CMC for 4 years now.
I think the better team found a way to win the game. That is what 10 win teams typically do, find a way to win. They don’t wilt under pressure and plow into each other like the keystone cops. I can see why that puzzles isu fans though, with high water mark for wins in a season is 9.

Our record shows we play in one of the 2 best conferences in the country (SEC being the other). No excuses though, we were young, made some mistakes, we will be better this year. CMC is outstanding and I have no doubt we will take another big step forward this year. I saw Athlon has us ranked 17th coming into the year. Higher than the TOE.

Out of the last 5 wins for Iowa, 4 of them have been decided in the 4th quarter. Outside Campbell's first year, Iowa has absolutely not been spanking Iowa State on the field.
