Iowa Football Recruiting

The tournament didn't happen, so how does it count as an appearance?

Why do you think I always say 5 out of 7 years that Iowa has NCAA Tournament quality basketball team? Der, because your troll was so predictable I saw it coming before you ever even thought of running it.

Are you talking about the current #10 Ranked Iowa Hawkeye Recruiting class with the following studs onboard?

Davidkov - Iowa State, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Wisconsin, Penn State, Nebraska, Oregon, Michigan State, Minn, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, BC, Syracuse

Colby - Iowa State, Ohio State, Michigan, VT, Nebraska, Michigan State, Minn

Sullivan - Nebraska, Minn

DeJean - Despite being a high 3*, definitely a diamond in the rough.

Johnson - Iowa State, Nebraska, KSU

Liddle - Iowa State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Minn

Stephens - Iowa State, Michigan, LSU, A&M, OkState, Missouri, Arkansas, Minn, Louisville, KSU, KU, Indiana

Dunker - "nobody" - adjl

Brecht - Iowa State, Nebraska, KSU, Kansas

Bowie - Iowa State, Nebraska, KSU, Minn, Indiana, VT

Harrell - Nebraska

Twedt - Iowa State

Bruce IV - Iowa State

Llewellyn - Iowa State, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan State, NW, Missouri, KSU, KU

Jeremiah Pittman - Iowa State, Wisconsin, MSU, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Illinois, BC, Syracuse

In all seriousness, I expect Iowa to be around 25-30 when it's all said an done. Might slip into the 30-35 range with a few decommits, but still see this being a pretty good class. I'm much more concerned with offers over a recruits "grade", but it's the off-season and gives us something fun to talk about. Even though this is the Iowa Football Recruiting thread, you can share whatever you want for the ISU class as well, been pretty slow here after a crazy April/early May.

I still think it will end up in the 30s, which is still very good for Iowa. When the QB commits after this weekend, it will drop Iowa's average quite a bit.

Oh we are talking about football now cause you need to move the goal post per usual, got it. Crazy to me that you somehow think losing 9 people (OVER THREE YEARS) on a team of 22 starters is somehow equivalent to losing 2-3 of 5 starters in one year. But then again, you have proven time and time again that you are hands down the most idiotic poster on this forum.

Hold on, those are just early entrants into the NFL Draft. Iowa has lost more than just 9 guys over 3 years to the NFL. Especially if you are trying to claim undrafted players now count as that total. If we are talking Iowa players that just graduate and then go onto the NFL undrafted, that would make that number even higher.

Steve lost THT early to the NBA, Shayok was out of eligibility so if Prohm can't recruit around that, then that is his problem. Wigginton left and he wasn't NBA quality and went undrafted.

My guess is that many of these guys will leave. ISU will have a solid recruiting class. I'm not worried about CMC. He knows what he's doing.

You guys have a shot at another Oregon State reject?

The extension was done in November so your post is completely wrong.
Actually it's not completely wrong. I stated it might've been done before the loss, which it was. It was done November 29th after Virginia Tech beat Iowa by 24. That game followed the Virgin Islands tournament where Iowa lost to Louisiana Lafayette and South Dakota State. The contract extension was not announced though until after Iowa got beat down by Purdue in late January. You can use that information to choose how you would like to formulate your opinion.

Like you have said a million times it was an NCAA Tournament appearance. Fran has 4 NCAA appearances at Iowa, and has had NCAA quality teams 5 of the last 7 years.

I said the NCAA considers it an appearance just like the NCAA considers Reggie Bush never won the Heisman

It's essentially a wild card game. If you believe wild card teams are playoff teams, then play in games are NCAA tournament games.

In my opinion, it's an NCAA tournament game but not a first round loss. It's a play in game / first 4 loss.

He knows it is a NCAA Tournament appearance. The next big troll is gonna be Fran has been to the NCAA tournament with Iowa 3 times. After Twins says it 1000 times, all the other ISU posters will believe that is reality.

I will never understand why this is so hard. The NCAA runs the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The NCAA considers the first four or whatever the NCAA wants to call it that particular year a NCAA Basketball Tournament Appearance. This is like trying to argue that 2+2 doesn't equal 4. It is black and white with 0 grey area.
