Iowa Football Recruiting

You've been beating the Bollers to ISU drum pretty hard, but there's literally no indication of that anywhere. Quite the opposite actually.
You're correct, there isn't much public indication out there. I never say anything is 100%, especially when it involves life choices from 16-18 year olds, but he is ISU's to lose at this point.

It might have been discussed during the weekend, but I wasn't going through 1000 posts about basketball to find it, but what does everyone think about Olakokun's new list? Do you think he get's back on board with Iowa after the visit situation is worked out or goes elsewhere? I really figured he'd move PSU into the recent top 4, but still worried as there are some good programs still in the running.

I think Iowa has as good of a chance as the rest of them. I would have been more worried if there were places closer to home in his top 4.

He's trolling so he can make it look like CMC screwed up if he doesn't get him
Not true. If I was trolling I'd say going 0 for 10 of the top Iowa kids instate this year is screwing up. There isn't any shame in losing a bluechip recruit, and from what I've heard he wont.

Even if you are trolling (I can't tell for sure but don't care), I hope you're right. Losing a recruit to Wisconsin or somewhere better is not going to make me lose sleep at night.

In my opinion, he likely picks up another offer later in the process and takes that. Going to be a weird recruiting season and just don't see someone who was already unsure coming back and staying with Iowa. Would be nice through, l like his film and would be a huge help in getting his teammate.

Are you stealing my material?
Never know if you get family guilted a lot to stay closer to home but those other options arent really all "that" much closer. I mean I could see if his 4 was Iowa, FSU, Auburn, South Carolina for example.

Wait wait wait... I found the statistics from ESPN you were looking at. Let me show you and everyone how fair this is.

Iowa top-40 defenses: ISU, Mich, PSU, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Minnesota

Iowa State top-40 defenses: Iowa, Baylor, TCU, OU, Notre Dame

Goodson stats:
ISU - 3 carries, 16 yards
Mich - 6 carries, 15 yards
PSU - 8 carries, 35 yards
Northwestern - 11 carries, 58 yards
Wisconsin - 5 carries, 26 yards
Minnesota - 13 carries, 94 yards

ypc - 5.3

Hall stats:
Iowa - 1 carry, 0 yards
TCU - 1 carry, 2 yards
Baylor - DNP
OU - 18 carries, 110 yards
Notre Dame - 17 carries, 55 yards

ypc - 4.5

So let me get this straight.. You're basing your argument off the fact that Goodson averaged more ypc against quality defenses, when in all reality, Hall essentially did not play in 3 of the games. Seriously? Lol

OU isn’t a Top 40 defense IIRC

With the recent news of Alt getting a ND offer, I wonder if Iowa will turn their attention to Maro or not for the last OL ride. I could see Iowa going after Moore too if/when they don't get Fidone too.
I'm guessing you guys will land Alt and will be done with Offensive line recruits. Maro is not deciding until about November so we've got a long time to wait. Most OL Classes will be wrapped up by then.

Yes, Moore grew up a Hok; however, there is a mutual love between Campbell and Moore. ISU staff thinks he has NFL potential. Moore gave Hok an ultimatum and they decided they would pass on Moore. That would be a pretty hard back track for them.

Either way, this 21 class from the state is the best and deepest class ever.

Oh pardon me I was using the list from after the conference titles where OU was 38, before they dropped to 48 after playing LSU. Okay so now you're essentially basing your opinion off of one game for Hall and 6 for Goodson. Got it.

That’s kind of the point. Goodson has proven he can produce against good defenses. Hall has racked up a bunch of stats against bad defenses and hasn’t proven anything against a good defense. Both players are good, but I’ll take the one who has proven he can produce against good defenses. Hall will get a chance to show what he can do next year.

If Alt and Myslinski want to commit, Iowa would take both of them.

I am sure the Iowa coaches were open with Moore and told him he might get an offer down the road.

Proven he can produce?? Outside of the Minnesota game he was rarely touching the ball! You cannot use this as a base of judgement. It's completely invalid. If you want to make your decision due to the fact that he's a Hawkeye, fine I can deal with that because I do that too at times, but you're using statistics from 1 game compared to 6 games.

And if he's that good shouldn't he be demolishing the mid tier and poor defenses as well? Why isn't he running all over them? Goodson rushed for more than 50 yards in 5 games total. Breece Hall got above 50 yards in 8 games and wasn't used whatsoever in 3 games!
