Iowa Football Recruiting

More like Iowa plays the game where they don’t rely on one phase of the game or a few position groups to try and win with. Iowa’s strategy is to win with complementary football between Offense, Defense and Special Teams.

Come back and tell us how much better isu is when they do it their way and have consistently higher win totals than Iowa.

True but as successful as Iowa football has been, you really have to wonder how good they would be if they opened up the offense, and took more shots down the field.

They have run that stretch zone read forever and teams have seen it enough to figure out how to stop it. Where is the counter play, where is the screen play to the back.
The offense is run, run, bootleg to the right and hit the TE crossing or going down the seam, and then back to running the ball.
Hell even Iowa fans find it boring, just go to their forum boards as proof, but since they get the gift that keeps giving, the Big 10 West they continue to get 8 or 9 win seasons.

I don't think you realize how much Halliburton did for the team when he was on the floor lol. There are obvious games on that list that we would clearly not win but a few that I would have no doubt we could've won had he played.

Which 3 in your opinion?

I think Florida A&M is an obvious one but there is not one after that you could lock in. The only real toss up is the loss to West Virginia.

Florida A&M, both games against Oklahoma State that we lost, especially the final one, and then West Virginia. It doesn't matter in all reality lol, we weren't good with him and we were horrible without him.

Iowa loses if Slovis doesn't get hurt. Parker had no defense for his deep ball and Iowa couldn't run the ball to keep it away from him
So basically you're saying Iowa loses if we stopped rushing the passer? Make AJ count 5 Mississippi before pursuing him?

Just glad that we are on the same page and don't think the transfers Prohm has landed so far move the needle a whole lot.
I don’t know how to even respond to a statement like that.

JCL absolutely makes ISU better than they were before he committed.

He’s going to put up good numbers and add some wins.

I agree he is a solid pickup, but still not enough to make the tournament IMO.

If you're assuming Iowa State is going to be as bad as we were last year, then I'd agree neither of these transfers are good enough to move the needle. Iowa State is not going to be as bad as we were last year though. We've added 2 pretty good transfers with some pretty good guys coming back, not to mention a good recruiting class. Add a guy like Justin Smith and we're sitting pretty darn well.

Easy game to play......"if" Kristian Welch doesn't get hurt we're playing Oregon instead of USC. You love playing the "if" game don't you?

Lol I have no idea what you're talking about. Parker had no answer for Slovis and you couldn't run the ball. You would have been screwed
