I was actually just responding to your assertion that it was laughable for a recruit to choose Oregon State over Michigan and I was somewhat agreeing with you. That's similar (in my mind) to saying that a recruit would actually choose ISU over Alabama...keeping in mind the offer from Alabama wasn't as a preferred walk-on. But the more I looked into it - Oregon State's football history isn't nearly as devoid of significance as ISU's football history. I didn't realize they beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl (41-9) in 2000. Wasn't that the score of the ISU vs Notre Dame bowl game this past year.....only ND was obviously on the winning side of that game. LOL!
Long story short, I don't think it's as crazy as you might think for a recruit to choose Oregon State over Michigan.....especially if you do believe a recruit chose the Clones over Alabama. Anyway, I'm sure this will lead to some good discussion tomorrow comparing Oregon State's overall football success to ISU's overall football success. Have a good night!
Defense wins championships is what I've always been told. Iowa is just built to win so many different ways.It all comes down to the QB I've been told
Are you saying Oregon State doesn't have a better football history than ISU? I think that's very debatable....and would slant towards OSU.Not sure why were talking about a hypothetical offer vs a real one but OK

I know right. When was the last BCS or New Year's 6 level bowl ISU played in?20 years ago?
Well I guess we all better stop making fun of Kansas then since they've won an Orange Bowl in that time frame.

They've won that many games because they don't have to play in one of the two legit conferences in CFB
Just glad you believe Kirk's peak is the same as Kansas.I know right. When was the last BCS or New Year's 6 level bowl ISU played in?
Iowa State football sucked pre-CMC. Alabama wanted Purdy. Michigan didn't want the Oregon State kid so I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here
I asked about why you think it's laughable for a recruit to choose Oregon State over Michigan and not Iaughable for a recruit to choose ISU over Alabama? Pretty simple question actually....but I'm guessing you don't like it. No problem though....you don't need to answer. That said, were you able to tabulate the number of NFL draft picks from Iowa (since Doyle has been the Strength Coach) vs. the number of NFL draft picks from ISU all time? I can wait until tomorrow, if you need more time.Iowa State football sucked pre-CMC. Alabama wanted Purdy. Michigan didn't want the Oregon State kid so I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here
Does KU have as many New Years Six games as KF?Just glad you believe Kirk's peak is the same as Kansas.

But he did. I have inside intel on this one.I was making fun of you because he didn't have a Michigan offer. Geez you are dense
I know you don't like to answer my questions, but please try to stay on topic at least. Do you think OSU has a better football history than ISU?I was making fun of you because he didn't have a Michigan offer. Geez you are dense

You think that's the topic?
Exactly. Can't believe he chose Oregon State over Michigan, but it happens. Some recruits actually turn down Alabama preferred walk-on offers to play for schools that have never played in a BCS or New Years Six Bowl....ever. Crazy world we live in.Yikes
