Iowa Football Recruiting

Epenesa was a 4.7 guy when he came to Iowa and was actually stronger coming in than when he left. He left and couldn't even run under a 5 sec 40. That's insane

How do you know he was stronger when he showed up at Iowa vs when he left? Or is this just another one of your unfounded myths? Also you do know that one forty time is not the be all end all forth time correct? Naw you cling to anything you can to keep your bogus myths going.

He reported a 4.7 40 and a a max bench of 315 lbs three days before his 17th birthday. Are you calling him a liar?

Do you really believe bench is the only measure of strength? Based on your other posts it is starting to make sense, clone fans have no clue about S&C.

Doyle is for sure one of the best in his division I'll give him that. The fact is Iowa's averaged 7 wins per season under him and the NFL thing is kind of weird timing with the Epenesa situation

To say he's the best in the business is laughable. Galt, Balis, Andrews, Batson, Marotti, Cochran, Herbert, Wylie, etc are all better
Trolling aside, are you worried at all about Andrews? Pitt only averaged 7.2 wins a year while he was there, and that was in the ACC Coastal Division, which was worse than the B10 West in 3 of those 5 seasons. Looks like he was also 0-1 against Iowa.

ACC Coastal was worse than the Big Ten West? Don't believe that for a second

There are lots of very good S&C coaches/staffs out there - not just at the big schools either. You could have a strength coach at Western Kentucky who is just as good or better than the one at Clemson.

Nice deflection. We're using your metric here, stay focused. You worried about how poorly he did at Pitt or nah?

Not at all.

Honestly I'm just still in shock that you're saying how the Big 12 is significantly better than the Big Ten in football

You listed 10 of the 11 bowls that were played dating back in the early 70s, but left one of them off.....interesting.

If so, it was unintentional. Look, Iowa has played there more often than ISU, but I don’t think of it as a historical bowl game. I don’t remember watching it at all when I was a kid. I guess it was on. I remember the Sun Bowl on CBS. The Peach Bowl. The Sugar bowl with Penn State for the National Championship. And of course the Rose Bowl.

It’s jus my list. Come up with a better if you like.

So you think a likely hand-timed 40 is as accurate as a laser-timed forty, and a one rep max of 315 is better than 17 reps of 225? Yikes. This is one of your worst trolls yet.

Good Lord.. Andrews is great. Doyle is great. What they do as S&C coaches does not completely determine whether the team is going to win or lose.

Do I think a player saying he ran a 4.7 40 is a huge difference than him running over a 5 sec 40? Yes

You can't deny he cost Epenesa millions of dollars

Are you arguing Doyle is good at preparing players for the NFL or good at preparing them to average 7 wins per season? Huge difference
I guess I shouldn't have involved the need to do math in my question to you. I would accept any general estimates....doesn't need to be 100% accurate, as I'm sure that fits with how you roll anyway.

Iowa has had alot of excellent players. What is it specifically about AJ that has had you so riled up for the last 2 years? He's living rent free in your head - just let it go, its extremely petty
