Iowa Football Recruiting

Iowa sits well with a few other guys as well. I can see 20 commits by the time the season rolls around. What is interesting to me is that QB, RB, and DB are slim on the news front right now. Not sure who Iowa gets to fill in there.

You obviously haven't seen biglow's tape. He's my favorite.

To be fair, like 4 of those picks anyone could have gotten due to the DL, but he looks like a nice prospect. I like your RB a lot. that kid is like a Sproles clone.

I mean neither the Camping World or the Liberty Bowl are historic bowls by any means and they certainly don't jump off the page, but in both of those games Iowa State played good teams, one of them being very good in Notre Dame. The last 3 bowl games, the teams we played had combined records of 30-6. Not bad as far as quality of opponent goes.

If we were playing a 6-6 Minnesota in the Liberty Bowl or a 7-5 Vanderbilt in the Camping World Bowl, I would agree with you that those are not good bowl games. In the context of who we were playing though, those are 3 good bowl games against 3 good opponents.

There aren’t many bowls with the history of the Liberty Bowl. I don’t know how long it’s been played, but it was a high stature bowl for a long time. Certainly more so than the Alamo. I’m not talking about now, but you used historic as a descriptor.

Off the top of my head, just based off history, bowls would be:
Rose
Cotton
Sugar
Orange
Sun
Liberty
Fiesta
Gator
Peach
Citrus

So a bowl that dates back to 1947 has no history to you?

Very interesting! Thanks for the knowledge. I guess maybe I meant status..

I don't see him fighting off true double teams to stuff the run. True double teams meaning two guys blocking him at the same time.

He moves pretty well now. But how will he move when you fill him with 50 more pounds. How much will that affect his burst? That's very important for a DT. He's a big kid already, 50 pounds is quite a bit.
Iowa has Doyle. He's best in the business as far as helping kids add good weight and keep their speed.

Like I stated earlier.... just shut the f'ck up! It's May and people like your really need to be committed....to a mental hospital that is.

Where is isu going to get all these high rated players when 758 have already committed somewhere else? Last year there where around 350 players committed so isu could pull in ranked players. You and other clone fans keep saying “but it is only May” and while that is true the inventory of ranked kids is dwindling daily. Each day that goes by isu loses more and more of its ability to improve their class ranking.

You can be mad about this reality all you like but that doesn’t mean it is going to change anytime soon.

I assume you are referring to the 247sports article.

If so, you missed the point of the article.

The article is predicting a massive wave of decommitments coming in the summer

LOL! How many Iowa players has he helped develop into NFL draft picks? I will hang up and wait for you to tabulate. Here's a clue though....It's A LOT! LOL!

Look at what he did to Epenesa. Epenesa was stronger and MUCH faster when he came to Iowa than what he left
