All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Imagine criticizing Pollard for not scheduling 11 P5 teams
Imagine claiming that JP wants to schedule P5 teams other than Iowa when he hasn't done it once in his entire career. My wish would be that they at least move it to an every other year game but I doubt that happens.

He's not going to schedule 11 P5 teams and Barta won't let him out of the contract. Seriously I get you hate Pollard but what's he suoposed to do here?

Iowa State always plays a harder conference schedule than Iowa even though the Big 10 produces more NFL talent? Yikes for the Big Ten coaches!
You play in the weakest P5 conference outside of the ACC, look at all the metrics Twins!!!! Every single metric points to Iowa playing a tougher schedule 5 of the last 6 years. Come in Twins wake up and smell the coffee

Iowa State just played the 5th hardest schedule in the country this last year. Iowa was at 30th. Lol nice try

He had plenty of chances before they went to a 9 game conference schedule and he never did. I seriously don't know when you've had a non-conf P5 team on the schedule other than Iowa. Over 20 years maybe? I bet there isn't another P5 team in the country that could say that they've had only one non-conf P5 opponent in that many years.

Why would he schedule 11 P5 teams? We had a home and home in the works with an SEC team once we got CMC but Barta vetoed that. Pre-CMC it probably would have been harder to get another P5 program though

Assuming this is true, and I’ve never ever heard that, why would Iowa let ISU out of a contract. Then Iowa would have to scramble for an opponent, probably another MAC or lower level school. Why would they do that? Doesn’t make business sense. Now if this supposed change was for 5-6 years down the road, Iowa could have found something.

Last I heard, both schools were pretty adamant that the series was going to continue.

For ISU I'd go with:
1. Xavier Hutchinson (WR) - was a big time JC recruit who had some great offers, runs extremely crisp routes, and is VERY fast

2. Derek Schweigher (OL) - he was the back up center for quite some time and he really held his own in times he has played. I've been hearing that they are thinking of keeping schweigher as the starting center and moving Newell to a guard spot. Could be interesting IF it happens

3. Isaiah Lee (DT- nose) - He played extremely well for a redshirt freshmen last year and the staff is extremely high on him. They compared him to having the motor of Jamal Johnson with the run stopping of Lima. This really hinges though on if the staff stays with the 3-3-5 or goes to a 4-2-5

4. Isheem Young (S) - This guy is an absolute stud and had some good offers on the table before he picked ISU. He is fast and great in coverage. Very similar player, IMO, to Greg Eisworth

5. Aric Horne (LB) - This is more a hunch as I've heard from people around the program that the staff is REALLY happy with how he developed last year. He apparently covers extremely well in space which is needed in the Big12. I could see him rotating in here or there

is Isheesm Young the guy that had legal troubles prior to committing?

You mean before we had Campbell? Lol yeah that seems relevant right now

That's why Barta didn't do it. I understand why he forced Iowa State to stay in it just pointing out Pollard tried to take a two year hiatus from the series and was unsuccessful

I see. So you’re actually agreeing with the decision the Iowa AD made. Do you have some kind of link to this story?
