.

I started some custodial index funds for my kids with the stimulus. Hoping they will add to them over the years and get a better start than I did when I was young. My oldest will be getting a highschool job when this clears up (hopefully before too long). Going to try to see if he would be willing to put some money away in a Roth as well. I tell you, I can only imagine where Id be sitting if I would have known about such things when I was his age. I pissed away thousands from my school days.

You’d be even richer with their pay your own way dating. Back then the guys had to pay for everything. Lucky bastards today.

Ha! Well I probably would have still paid, just how I was raised. But I blew a lot of money on stupid stuff that I definitely wish I could get back again. Really do hope that my mistakes can be learning experiences for my kids. Obviously they will make their own, but I will offer guidance that I didn't have. Not a knock against my parents by any means, they just weren't raised that way either and just thought differently.

Some decent earnings so far. However Disney was pretty bad and the stock is unchanged. Makes no sense. Jim Cramer just shaking his head and saying it should be down. Then goes into well its "iconic" and will always be around.

I like Cramer, seems like a good guy, but I don't really listen to his opinion much anymore. I don't think most of his hot takes and opinions are his. Not really his fault, I think the network has more say.

I think the iconic factor is the thing with Disney. I guess I don’t know about others, and I kind of hit their hot spot growing up, but this has only deepened my interest in the company. I had already been itching to get back to Disney World and I was loving Disney+. (This bowl game was a nasty tease) they are obviously going to be hurting in the short term but I think long term it’s a great price.

Sometimes a great product doesn't mean a great stock to buy... They are losing money just like Netflix on Disney+. I don't know that I want to short this stock but I certainly wouldn't be buying. This was a $30 stock in 2011 before a good run to 2015. Long time double top at ~$42, might be interested closer to that price. But I can't get over my personal bias and hate of ESPN and just the company in general.

I like him as well... If you are used to watching these people you can pretty easily tell what they really think and what they are supposed to think and say on TV.

Your trying to compare the price of something 9 years ago and 5 years ago. Of course something back then was cheaper.

Inflation does not make that much difference in the short term. There are however cycles to everything. I wouldn't touch Disney stock unless you saw levels close to that breakout level of $42-45 level.

Has very little to do with inflation, and a lot more to do with underlying fundamentals of the company over that period of time. Your price target is based on an outdated business model.

Hopefully I'm climbing the hill again. Was a sucky week for my portfolio. Start gleaning some dividends and see what I want to do with the dividend stocks.
