Iowa Football Recruiting

Lanning scored more defensive TD’s than Jewell did, you sure about that? I wonder why one player was a consensus 1st team AA and the other one wasn’t?

Lanning scored more total TDs. That’s the bear standard. If your coaches didn’t use their playmakers right that’s on them.

So you're using total defense or total rushing defense?

Total defense is what is used when looking at how good defenses are. I mean I would be agreeable to using YPP instead, as I'm actually leaning these days to using a YPP.

He is about the same as ISM and he outright torches isu. I really enjoyed how ISM lit up a first team all Big 12 DB from isu for a game winning TD in his second game as a true freshman.
You really do live in your own little world don't you. Guy gets open once when a DB slips, and suddenly he was torched lol.

isu used Lanning as a playmaker on defense he just wasn’t good enough to out play Jewell on defense or special teams.

Peavey simply wasn’t good enough to cover a true freshman WR playing in his second game.

I'd love to know what point you're trying to make with a comment like that? Because if you are saying they put out a lot of offers, you're gonna look foolish. If you are trying to say Iowa and Iowa State go after similar prospects (aka midwest people) then oh my goodness what a revelation!!!

I think he is point out that yes Iowa and ISU are going after the same players, and Iowa is winning the recruiting battles vs ISU.

So #34 Penn State is a good defensive team but #38 Oklahoma isn't?

As I said, I looked at total defense. You wanna swap it out to total defense broken down to YPP? Ok cool. Looks like OU allowed 5.63 YPP good for #63 national, just behind Nebraska who allowed 5.61 YPP. Penn St. was at #16 at 4.82 YPP.

So you like YPP now instead of total defense? I'm so confused

You are so bad with numbers and metrics. Let me break it down for you.

Total defense is the amount of yards per game that a defense gives up. That is the standard for defenses and how they are measures, total yards allowed. That is what I used, because if you can remember I said Goodson had to play better defenses.

Now if you want to take total defense (total yards allowed over the season) and break that down into YPP instead of YPG, then I'm cool with that. We are still looking at the total yards allowed by a defense over a season, but one looks at a per game level the other a per play level.

Can you understand this? I know it is pretty advanced for your ISU degree, but I'm pretty sure most of the other ISU poster here get it, so it is more likely a "you" issue.

So no package deal. Good to know. I don't know why anybody is excited about him then. Smallish, not very fast, mediocre receiver. Perfect fit for Iowa I guess.

You've watched video of Iowa WR targets? Rival is nice place to go, it links it all together for you in one place, that membership is really paying off for you.

If you think scoring TD’s as a QB should be counted as the quality of playing defense and special teams then it shows just how much isu fan understands football.
Typical hok fan doesn't understand when he's being made fun of. I guess when it happens ALL THE TIME it's hard to know anything different.
