Ok, I guess what is your point? Mahomes is killing it in the NFL; so by your logic any amazing QB in college is guaranteed to win the Super Bowl?

Looks like it. I underestimated him. Out of the three supposedly up and coming coaches near Iowa's campus (Frost, Campbell and Fleck), he is by far the best one and the biggest threat.
In all honesty, Frost and Fitzgerald are the same age but I'd be more concerned with Fitzy. Last year was brutal, but he's finished 2nd, 4th, 2nd, and 1st in the West in the last 5 years. Iowa played in the same bowl they did the previous year.
Haha...sorry, couldn't resist. But I will say it is pretty true to this point. He is recruiting really well and already has a top 10 finish. He has surprised me to this point. Was hoping he was all talk, but he seems to have coaching and recruiting ability to back at it up.

They started the year 4-0, but it was very realistic for them to start 0-4 against teams that were just not any good.
Now obviously they got better as the year went along, but they were probably somewhere in between the bad they were at the start of the year & the great they were at the end.
What is there to defend at the moment? Fleck has finished in the top 25 twice and once in the top 10, and he is recruiting circles around Campbell.
I saw that, crazy times. Hopefully Iowa can keep most of these guys and make it to the finish line with them.
I agree with you. Those first four games were dicey for sure, but they won them and that is what counts. Iowa barely beat UNI in 2009 and that was a great team. Minnesota got better as the year went on evidence by beating PSU and Auburn.
