Garza declares for the NBA

Live look in at those posters trying to find spin zones on how Iowa is going to be good next year.
While funny, I do think Iowa is still a bubble team without him next year. They'll be a nightmare defensively though, and not a lot of inside presence. They still have some offensive firepower though, as long as Weezy snaps out of whatever's been bothering him.

Garza will be fine in the NBA and will have a role. I think it's a little dumb for fans of Georges, who is shorter, had no athleticism, and had a three point shot that needed to be retooled for a quicker release to scoff at Garza playing in the league.

Despite the fact he's a Hawk and his Dad is an annoying felon and conman, I really respect Garza and his game.

I mean, if Brook Lopez can be an All-Star and key player on the team with the best record in the NBA, surely a guy like Garza can have a role for some team.

Yeah not seeing the Niang comparison at all

Not trying to diminish this opinion, because I agree with some of it, but Brook Lopez was picked 10th in the 2008 NBA draft.

I honestly disagree, but we'll have to wait and see. Half of their shots come from inside out and they're going to have little to no post presence next year with Kriener and Garza gone. Defensively they're going to be worse than they have in years and they don't have one go to scorer on their team if Garza is gone. Almost no one can create their own shot currently.

I do not think any child deserves any stigma from the illegal, immoral, or just plain idiotic things their parents did, particularly if they had nothing to do with it.

Luka was born in 1998 and his father's "troubles" were in the early 00s. Hate the father all that you want, rightfully, but I doubt a kindergartner had much to do with it.

All of us might feel this way to at least some degree.

Garza is the only basketball player in the world working out right now so that should help him

Do you think Garza stays in the draft? What odds would you give that he stays in?

That literally all depends on whether or not someone is saying they might take a chance with him, so I don't know. Me throwing out a percentage doesn't mean anything because I have no idea what Luka and his dad are being told right now. I do think though that if there is any chance he could be in this year's draft or even be told he could be signed to a roster, he will leave. There isn't going to be any better highlights / tape to watch than this year's.

Not really comparing them as players, other than both are skilled players that lack athleticism. I'm just saying it seems dumb that there's a segment of our fanbase can watch a 6-7/6-8 guy that has no athleticism play in the league and can say Garza has little chance to make the league.

Saying Niang has no athleticism is not accurate

And is bigger, stronger, and more athletic, other than that A TOTAL WASH!

I thought I read somewhere awhile back he is rated as the 85th best player if he came out in the draft. I think it's unlikely he gets drafted. But this was all before he started being noticed as the Big10 PTY. So, who knows.

Georges is a different type of player than Luka though.. Georges was a point forward who now plays the 3/4 position. Luka is strictly a 5. Georges also is a lot more coordinated than Luka.

This isn't me saying Luka has no shot, but the comparison between the two seems to be a bit off.

I was truly impressed with the work he put in to improve his game from sophomore to junior. However, IMO this year was his peak. This is as good as he is going to get as a college player. Plus next year, other teams will be better able to develop a plan to defend him. It is hard to imagine him having the same offensive production again as he had this year.

Everything I saw of him, he appeared to be a good young man and there is no reason to wish him anything but the best (except for one game next year if he stays at school, of course).
