Actually Ken Pom's analysis shows a slight lean to defend but he admits needs a bigger sample size.

I am generally a foul guy but it's situational (Iowa States example was clearly one where you could have fouled in the back court or well away from the basket) and you need to practice it because you can mess it up. Given all our deficiencies Idk that spending time on fouling with five seconds left is the best use of time.
