Fran should be coach of the year so far.
Chambers has to be the front runner for Big Ten Coach of the Year ahead of Underwood and Pickell
We might not be having the greatest season, but at least we are building the program the right way. We don't sign thugs.
Currently I'd split Chambers/Underwood, then Pikiell, Turgeon will get votes.

He has two of the best players he has ever coached and is still going to lose 11 or 12 games.
That is far from COY material.
According to this board Iowa only has 2 good players and a decent third player. All the rest of them are awful. So it must be the coaching that has them two wins of the NCAA tournament.
This. I know the Big Ten is down this year in terms of having teams like Kansas or Baylor but the thought he should be Big Ten Coach of the year is crazy
Serious question, would any casual to moderately high watching college basketball fan be able to name a single Penn St player? I would only be able to name one Rutgers player and that's because of who his dad is.
I would say most people in the country at a minimum know Garza this year.
Lamar Stevens is probably going to be 1st team all conference and should be known by anyone who watches a decent amount of college basketball.
But I agree with you on the jobs that Chambers and Pickell have done this year.
That being said, you cant discount the job Fran has done just because those guys are coaching exceptionally well this year.
I'm not discounting Fran at all. It's definitely been his best year at Iowa. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think playing the smaller rotation has helped but that's going to be interesting next year again if there's no injures or shocking transfers.
Is it his best year? It seems right on par with a few of the other years he has had there.
