I'm on board with Ash being better than Connor and Grill

Lewis is such a sore spot because of inconsistency. He often looks reckless on the floor, not actually contributing much of tangible value...until a game like last game where he helped ice it off the bench suddenly. That's not normal.Guess it is a vocal minority.
The fact that Grill was offered by Tech, Creighton, Nebraska, and K-State. He's struggled for sure but has a nice looking shot and is very athletic. What are you basing this on?
He's 100% from 3 this year....why doesn't he start?6'5 sharp shooter from Ames. His mom is an assistant under Fennelly

Literally so good it's unfair to play him. Sitting out for the draft already. He's 100% from 3 this year....why doesn't he start?

That said, he's still not a PG. He doesn't replace Hali anyway. The closest thing we have to that, for better or worse, is either Jackson or Nixon. Nixon handles the ball fairly well in honestly, it's decision-making and pass accuracy that gets him. Likes to try to force things that aren't needed.
In extremely-limited minutes. Think that's gonna trend up or down with more PT?Lewis has a PER of 20.7 and barely plays, crazy times. This PER stuff is fun.
I wouldn’t bench a guy who’s playing well, but Jacobson and Nixon have been by far the two biggest disappointments this season. Being a senior is basically the only reason Jacobson starts.Sad to hear about Haliburton. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.
One thing to remember for Cyclone fans that want to go into "rebuild" mold immediately and reduce playing time for guys like Jacobson and Nixon in exchange for giving the younger guys experience.
I don't see Prohm doing it because....
a) it's a ****** thing to do to a senior
b) I don't think it's a smart thing to do from a "team" standpoint. A guy like Jacobson who's been with the program 3? years....team leader. To be crapped on would be a poor message to the team.
With Haliburton gone those kids will be getting more playing time anyway.....getting 25 minutes instead of 18 isn't going to 'develop" them that much faster anyway.

That's one issue I have with PER. It's hard to really evaluate for small contributors. It is nice to see trends for large contributors over time, but seems to be less useful for small role players and such. I kinda view it like +/- in that regard (although that one is pry even more volatile/not indicative of the whole picture).

Grill is an elite athlete.
He’s playing too early right now.
There are a lot of elite athletes that suck at basketball.
Lol I wouldn't call Connor an elite athlete. Cmon man
This made no sense.
Connor is better than every guard in ISU's rotation other than Bolton.
Grill doesn’t suck at basketball. He’s not ready yet. There are a lot of elite athletes that suck at basketball.
What Iowa State guard can't shoot or defend? Jackson and Nixon can at least guard. Oh wait I forgot Connor averages 3 assists per game in his 30 mpg he doesn't suck right?
Imagine having your best guard (Bolton) shooting 40% from the floor with 63 turnovers on the year to 61 assists. Bolton has the same DWS as Connor as well. This made no sense.
