Tonight's game showed exactly what the NBA looks for in a center these days. Tall, long, athletic shot blockers that can also run and jump out of the gym.

That's why as amazing of a year as Garza is having, it's not a given he'd be drafted if he left after this year. Normally it would be a given for the B1G's leading scorer to leave after their junior season.

So why didn’t Smith play that way in Iowa City? Does the NBA turn a blind eye and say he is awesome some of the time?

Really liked how Iowa didn't back down at the end even though it clearly wasn't their night. Frederick and Garza just being super clutch at the end hitting meaningful buckets to keep giving their team a fighting chance to not lose by a dozen. And weiskamp, oh mercy, better not let him loose with the game on the line. Maryland very fortunate to have not won by only 6

Garza got a couple shots blocked, big deal. He still had 21 in an off night battling foul trouble where he couldn't be as aggressive as normal.

That game was pretty much what I expected. Maryland is undefeated at home and Iowas wasn't going to beat them unless Maryland had an off night shooting, or Iowa had a super hot night shooting.

I agree, missing Jordan to injury has really hurt Iowa. The Big10 studio crew was talking about how tough it is for Iowa being down 2 starters and a 4* player. I am not surprised that they are saying the exact thing I have been saying on here for a long time. That is very impressive to do what Iowa has done up to this point down so many players.

i would guess Baylor, Kansas, WV and TT in front of Iowa in the conference. So that would be fifth.

If the Big 12 is better than the Big 10 then why doesn’t anyone else see it? isu wants nothing to do with the Big Ten what are you 1-4 in your last 5?

I'm really happy where Iowa sits in the toughest conference in all of basketball. Are you satisfied how ISU is doing in a much easier conference?
