Iowa Football Recruiting

Lol @HawkJRP I forgot you ran with the Jenkins is better than Downing thing for a while lol

And this is why it is dumb to argue about recruiting rankings of HS kids. As you say Twins, offers matter more than rankings. Downing was a good get for you guys. I will say that Jenkins could have been good as well, but I guess we will never know.

In Gonz’s defense Linderbaum could have been a very good DL recruit in that class if he hadn’t changed positions. So that part at least had some truth to it. The rest looks rough though.

You mean like saying Jacob Park is elite 1000 times like Twins did? Now that was rough.

Nah I think I'm still going to hit on Petras and Plumb; at DL it was also Waggoner and Nixon who'll both likely start; Brents at CB is going to be good; I was really high on McDonald, I think that ankle injury did him in, shame. Jenkins just quit the sport for personal reasons, good for him but you can't see something like that coming. He was on our two-deep this season as a RS FR.

I can get behind a guy who has the confidence to double down. Now I am officially pulling for those guys. Waggoner especially, he had as much of a roller coaster of a recruitment as you will see.

I think you'll see him, Evans and VanValk in the mix opposite Golston. He's shown good stuff so far.

That's one way to completely ignore the question

Well Stanley was a really, really good, big, pro-style QB who knows how to line up under center and has a huge arm; and it sounds like Petras is going to be a really, really good, big, pro-style QB who knows how to line up under center and has a huge arm. So, yeah.

Plus I know neither of them would get outplayed on their home field by a non-schollie QB from Drake, so they share that in common too.

Yeah, I'm hoping Petras is as good as Stanley. I mean 27 wins over 3 years, include 2 consecutive top 25 AP finishes and 3 bowl wins. Sign me up!

I'm surprised you're signing up for 3 more years of no Indy. To each their own
