All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

You're probably right but still a bad look IMO.

PSU? This hazing allegation is pretty weird but they are forever stained by the Sandusky thing....

That’s why it’s worse when the ones hazing bring up his name while doing it. You think that name would be one that would boot you out.

So, how will each team replace what was lost from the 2019 squads?

ISU loses two top WR, 4 (3 really) OL, a pair of DT’s, a LB, and a safety.

I know what Iowa loses early, but not sure on the rest.

Here is my best guess:

QB- Petras will replace Stanley
RB- Goodson, Sargent and Kelly-Martin are all back. IKM was able to RS last season
OL- Best guess left to right is Jackson, Banwart, Linderbaum, Schott, Kallenberger. Justin Britt played early this year as a true freshman at guard but was able to retain his RS. Those guys are probably our top 6.

DL- Waggoner, Golston and Van Valkenburg at DE with Joe Evans getting snaps in pass rush situations. Nixon will start at DT. Need a young guy to step up here. I would imagine the staff will be pursuing grad transfer options on the DL.
LB- I think the 4-2-5 is here to stay for the most part so the 2 LB spots will be figured out between Campbell, Doyle, Niemann and Colbert. There is a thought that Campbell may outgrow LB and move down to DE. Welch is a big loss here.
CB- Lose Ojemudia but have 4 other guys that have started at CB in their careers (Hankins, Moss, Johnson, Brents).
S- Lose Stone. Koerner and Meriweather will battle for the FS spot, not sure if the backup can slide over to strong safety. Otherwise hopefully the light turns on for one of the young guys (Craddieth or Castro).
P- Will be looking for options here.

Noah Shannon will be in the mix.

Epenesa will be the hardest to replace by far imo. He made so many game changing plays and was game planned around all year with extra blockers. Can't replace a talent like that with next man in type of players. He was a generational talent for a team like Iowa.

Ezra Miller having to give up football because of back issues. Tough break for a kid that was highly ranked coming out of HS.

Sounds like he will remain enrolled at Iowa.

So you say. Just curious if he bothered to make an in home visit to Purdy?

I believe the QB coach visited him and Saban FaceTimed him to offer. Then they used one of their official visits to get him on campus which is obviously a much bigger deal
