As I mentioned in a different thread, the bowl Gods were not kind to the Big 12 this year as every Big 12 team was matched up against a higher ranked team. 6 teams, all dogs.
Doesn't change the fact that we got absolutely demolished by Notre Dame, but this result after K State fans were so happy to see us get owned by Notre Dame makes me smile a bit. They were so sure they were the team that would be better fit to play the Fighting Irish, yet they were bested (pretty easy honestly, as the score doesn't really reflect how dominant Navy was) by the team that Notre Dame beat by 30.
Kleiman should take some heat for not taking any timeouts until it was too late to make a difference. Really needed to take one to disrupt Navy's rhythm on what turned out to be the winning drive.
Big 12 goes to 0-4.. Otherwise, I never feel ill will toward the Naval Academy,. Those players will be off to active duty soon in either the US Navy, and the USMC. God bless every one of them!!!

And the offensive coaches. Can you imagine Navy losing 2 yards on a 4th-and-inches?
Not sure why anyone would disagree with this - Navy runs a defense where they have less talent and held K-State to 10 points on offense. Also, always good to see what others are doing . I mean didn't Clemson come to Ames last summer! ?
The Big 12 well on its way to an 0fer bowl season. And with Texas and Baylor as the last men up, it’ll be very hard to root in a way that won’t result in that outcome.
Somebody voted this as dumb? How? I completely agree with this. Yes we all got bumped up a level due to OU, but that really didn't change much honestly. Do you think we would have beaten Navy? I sure as hell don't. Nor do I think Oklahoma State is disciplined enough to beat them. I think we match up decently with Texas A&M but still would give the Aggies the edge. OU got obliterated, and the four teams that tied (Texas, ISU, K State and OSU) have all looked like garbage for the most part. We would be absolutely handing it to the Big Ten if this was the type of bowl season they were having and rightly so.

He's not wrong. We would be letting any other conference have it if they had this performance. Doesn't matter if all teams were underdogs or not. OU and ISU got absolutely destroyed, K State was pushed around all day by Navy and honestly the game wasn't as close as the score and Oklahoma State started out well but looked completely lost once A&M adjusted.
I don't know how the KSU safety can going blasting in there like that with 23 seconds left in the game and Navy at their 45. With that much time left you should never let a receiver run right by you.
It was a gutsy call, but Navy played the odds of K State being super aggressive in short yardage to gain the first down. Couple with the fact Navy doesn't like to throw the ball, and you figure they bring out their bread and butter (running the football) when they absolutely have to get a first down and it was a brilliant call. Same thing on Navy's last TD. Just a great call to go against how aggressive the K State was overplaying gaps.
