All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Iowa State’s OL is definitely a concern for 2020.

Any time you lose 4 starters, particularly the two tackles, it’s rarely a good thing.

Everywhere else should be pretty solid.

Whatever happened to the OL guru that CMC brought to Ames with him? I would think in 4 years he should be able to fix the OL better than he has.

How will the depth be at WR?

Milton is really good but losing Jones and Pettway will hurt. The games I saw, Shaw probably produced the most from the next line of guys.

Will Milton and Shaw be the starters?

The fan base got ISU in that bowl. Never said it was Pollard.

Well obviously you weren't who I was initially responding to. I think you know who that is. Too bad that most of the people on this site are actually rational posters to have it ruined by one troll.

Actually there are two, it seems like more because they re-up under a new name when they get banned.

Great list. Add in LaPorta at another TE spots, and it looks really good then.

Did he not start recruiting OL when he got here? I mean you should have some RS So, Jr, and Sr ready to take over, right?
I'd take a couple for sure. There is Downing, who Iowa offered, and Newell, who Iowa didn't but probably should have. I think they might have been playing some for us this year with the interior line struggles we had at times, some due to injury.

I think it will be Milton, Shaw and Hutchinson that start.

Depth will be Scates, Wilson, Akers, Porter, Anderson.

Really think true freshman TJ Tampa has a legitimate shot to compete as well. He’s a freak athlete.

Yeah I believe in keeping this roster modeled after nearly all the other All-American and All-Conference teams position wise... 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, etc.

LaPorta has a great shot at this list next season. Beast.

Do you not remember how bad this team was before Campbell took over? Campbell didn't instantly come to Iowa State and start getting a lot of good linemen to commit. Campbell had to walk before he could run. Succeeding at a school at Iowa State doesn't happen overnight and you're not going to be able to pull great recruits your first year in. Good recruits didn't want to come to Iowa State because we weren't good but Campbell has changed that, which is why he's been able to get better guys.

Not quite that cut and dry.

His first OL class that was quickly thrown together will be RSSr next year, and 2 of them left the program in the past few years.

We’ll see if any of the second class guys (RSJr’s in 2020) will compete, I think a few will.

Poster you quoted is correct though. The most talented recruits will be RSSo and RSFr.

Your highest rated recruit of CMC first class was a offensive lineman Sean Foster.

Kirk Ferentz came in and in 4 years had an amazing offensive lineman with very unheralded guys, TE recruits and players nobody wanted. You can always develop what you have, and making excuses in year 4 is just that, excuses.

Both Iowa and ISU use multiple TE's, I think listing two of them is appropriate.
