Iowa Football Recruiting

I’m looking forward to this game being respected by our coaching staff.

I think it is pretty smart for CMC to de emphasize the Iowa game. Only conference wins matter, and lets face it CMC has a hard time getting his player up for game, best save that for conference opponents.

The man sets realistic goals.

So, you're saying that if we took away Iowa's best recruits, their class wouldn't be as strong? Wow, that is some groundbreaking analysis!

I was told we had to take away the bad teams from Iowa's schedule to prove it wasn't weak so I thought I'd try this strategy here

Huh? You can talk about the 5 bad teams Iowa played, just like I can talk about the 6 bad teams ISU played.

See, you got that word right, Stick to one word posts, that’s your speed.

There's a tremendous difference from being a bad team and not having a good record. TTU, WVU, and TCU did not have good records, they were not bad teams. Kansas was realistically the only bad team in the conference this year, and they were better than 3 teams in the Big 10 this year, two of which Iowa got to play.

Northwestern, Purdue, and Rutgers were horrifically bad football teams this year.

TTU, WVU, and TCU combined to beat 3 bowl eligible teams this year. Add in Kansas and you still got 3 wins over bowl teams combined. Not exactly a murderers row.

The fact is you shouldn't lose to any team that doesn't make a bowl game. It is like bragging about a Quad 4 win in BB, kind of silly.

Actually, WV, TTU, TCU, all beat one bowl eligible team.. meaning they had 4 total. Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, and Rutgers all combined to win 2 games against bowl eligible teams.. Nebraska and Northwestern beat Illinois, that's how they get to two. Lol I didn't even mention Maryland because Iowa didn't play them, but throw them into that mix and you still have 2 wins against bowl eligible teams.

Illinois played 5 teams this entire year that had 4 wins or less. Purdue was the lone team with 4.
