Truck buying recommendations

I'm a die-hard Chevy guy. If you have kids, I'd recommend the crew cab. Or whatever the name is for the other guys.

You'll get some grief from true "truck guys" but I can fit two adults, two car-seats, and pull 9,000 lbs in it.

Really? Seems every truck I see these days is a crew cab.

Does it do that stupid "turn off at the stop sign" thing? That's why I went with the 5.0 V8.

I had a 2003 Silverado that had rust issues within 5 years. I found out that there was a corrosion warranty that covered it. I've been driving a 2010 Tundra that has had zero issues and is at 140K miles. I've been looking at 2018 or 2019 trucks lately. There are way more crew cabs than extended cabs out there right now.

Auto start/stop? Yep. I hated it to start...now I actually like it...especially in stuff like leaving the football game.

I've had a Titan Pro4x for 4 years now with zero issues. The only thing that I don't like is the gas mileage, but I've towed my boat all over the Midwest and Canada and so far it's been great, tons of power.

What do you like most about the Tundra? How's the power? How many miles have you put on it?

I always forget about foreign autos when I think trucks. My mind still thinks the best trucks are always from US brands (not correct, of course). What's your thoughts, having driven both?

The power is great (5.7L) with lots of torque for towing, especially when put in "tow/haul mode". I've got almost 60k miles without a single issue. It's been super reliable and handles and rides great. Haven't had to replace anything but the tires. The mileage is not ideal and I probably only average around 18 mpg, but expected that going in with the 5.7L. Also, Tundra's are built in San Antonio, Texas so even though it's a "foreign" truck it's still made here.

It would be really tough to get me to switch back to any of the trucks from the "big three" at this point.

I’ve been in a Tacoma for almost 4 years now. Really solid truck I think. Would have loved a full size but I rarely tow anything and for comparable option packages a F150 was another $15K.

Just bought a ‘19 F-150 SuperCrew and it’s awesome. Tons of room and very comfortable.

I have a 2018 toyota crewmax and love it. Our dealership in Dallas literally had a 20 year /200,000k warranty going on them. Good luck finding that on any american made truck. Only downside is fuel economy, it gets about 17mpg. I just swapped from a dodge ram and previously had an ford f150. Hands down this is the best truck I have owned.

In Texas, the a**hole on your bumper is almost always driving a Ram. The rest of the truck drivers are pretty well behaved.

My favorite truck is the enormous one with just two people in it, who attempt to find a parking slot in B4 one hour before kickoff and can't understand why nobody will tear down their tents and grills just so this tank can pass thru. Absolutely love it!

You know who you are. Borrow a normal sized car next time.
