Iowa Football Recruiting

Lachey is going to be a stud. Excellent ball skills and runs like a gazelle at 6’6”. Just needs some time in the weight room with Doyle.

Are Iowa fans worried about their staff’s ability to get the top talent in-state? I mean they only got 1 of the top 4 247 in-state kids this class.

The funny thing about this troll job is that next year’s in-state class is one of the best in years, and Iowa is likely going to end up with at least 6 or 7 of the top 8 guys, while Iowa State will land 1 at the most (and even he has started taking visits to Iowa after his commitment to Iowa State).

Real dumb to not offer Dekkers and Pederson IMO. They're studs

Iowa was kind of in a weird spot on the Dekkers situation. They got an early commit from their number one QB target who has been instrumental in gaining other recruits. They were only going to take 1 QB. Then Dekkers kind of blows up, but it is also probably too late to try and get him in fear of Hogan moving on and other recruits moving because of Hogan.

Decided to take a look at last year, this year, and next year (using composite, like all sane people do):

2019 Top 5 Iowa:
Dugan - TCU (Iowa&ISU offer)
Miller - Iowa (ISU offer)
Enders - Iowa (ISU offer)
Campbell - Iowa (ISU offer)

Newsome - Neb (Iowa offer)

2020 Top 5 Iowa:
Jones - Iowa (ISU offer)
Dekkers - ISU (no Iowa offer)
Gunnerson - Neb (Iowa&ISU offer)
Volk - Iowa (ISU offer)
Williams - Iowa (ISU offer)

2021 Top 5 Iowa:
Boilers - Undecided, Nebraska lean (Iowa&ISU offer)
Colby - Iowa (ISU offer)
Liddle - Undecided, Iowa lean (ISU offer)
Brecht - Undecided, Iowa lean (ISU offer)
Bowie - Undecided, Iowa lean (ISU offer)

So I guess I'm having a hard time understanding why you think Iowa fans should be concerned about their staffs instate recruiting?

Same thing happened with Iowa State but we decided he was too good to pass up. Iron sharpens iron
