All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Imagine Epenesa, Lima, and Bailey on the same team coming at you..

And Enyi would be an effective DT in Iowa’s scheme, and Golston is poised to have a fantastic year as well. That would be 5 deep with legitimate all-conference caliber players.

You have to admit the stats are skewed based on the atrocious offenses he goes against

We just went over this. The offenses that Iowa faced are better than the defenses that Iowa State faced. If you refuse to acknowledge that Purdy benefitted from playing bad defenses, it’s pretty disingenuous (dare I say trollish) for you to claim that Epenesa benefitted from playing bad offenses.

Jamaal Johnson for ISU is a tremendous DT who would fit in too. Enyi would likely play the end spot when one of the guys would need a break. And yeah that'd be a scary defensive line.

I think he's saying the offenses we faced were not as good as the defenses Iowa faced. And although it may be true, comparing a QB who basically goes up against the entire defense, compared to a DE, who basically goes up against 2 offensive players, is like comparing apples to oranges.

Comparing apples to oranges We play a 3 man front . In not saying epenesa is a stud, but you guys think uwazurike is trash when in fact he does so much that isn't in the stats.

Why I've always said it is dumb to compare stats when it comes to defense. This isn't baseball.

This would be the first time you have acknowledged that Purdy benefitted from playing weak opponents. If you are in fact acknowledging that, it’s a step in the right direction.

Good point. What was his stat line against the explosive B12 team he faced last year?

I had to go back and double check these stats a couple times to make sure they were legit. Easy to see why you didn't want to post them.

Total Tackles: 5 (3/2)
Sacks: 2
Forced Fumbles: 1
Passes Deflected: 1

Pretty impressive against a legitimate offense. Definitely can see where you're coming from with the superbowl idea, between this and the other great game he had against Illinois I think you make a strong case.

What's the point of coming here to troll?
