All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

So Stanley had two top 20 draft picks he was throwing jump balls to, a way better OL and played a weaker schedule so tell me again why you think he's better than Purdy

Purdy had two of the greatest skill position players in Iowa State history, a solid OL (according to Iowa State fans), and played what has to be one of the worst defensive schedules a P5 QB has ever played.

How do I get one of those “dumb” buttons? This is the perfect post for one of those.

If you’re not even capable of having a rational and objective conversation with Iowa fans, then I hope to never see you complaining about the Iowa “trolls” who post on this website- because you are no better than them.

I've given you dozens of them and you can't figure how to use it?

Not at all, and if you would take a second to try and think objectively, you know that I am right. There are a lot of different factors that can affect a QB’s performance and statistics- there are much fewer for return specialists.
Says the guy that's afraid of his past.

Purdy got the benefit of playing terrible defenses almost every week, while Stanley did not. Good try though.

So if Purdy played terrible defenses almost every week and ISU played a tougher schedule than Iowa what does that say about the offenses Phil Parker faced?

That they weren’t as good as the offenses Heacock faced? Regardless, adjusting for opponents’ strength Iowa had a better defense (and offense) than Iowa State last year, so I’m not sure what point you’re trying to prove.

So is Epenesa even that good? What about your secondary? They were facing atrocious offenses almost every week easy to rack up stats against bad competition

The funny part is every objective statistic that is out there is heavily in Purdy's favor. But keep on moving the goal posts. I don't really care but it is hilarious you quote stats, etc right up until they don't fit your narrative. By all means continue with the charade that you are somehow being objective when in EVERY measurable Purdy destroys Ham Hands.

Is this where I pull out a PFF tweet to talk about how good Iowa’s players are? Just ask Iowa State how good Epenesa is.

Just ask Iowa how good Steele Jantz is. FWIW I do think Epenesa is good but it's hard to tell how good based on the level of competition they face. Last year he went against arguably the worst offensive schedule in the history of college football

If you can’t acknowledge that QB stats are heavily affected by external influences, I’m not sure what else I can do to help you. Devin Booker was 7th in the NBA in PPG last season - that doesn’t mean he was the 7th best player, or even the 7th best scorer in the NBA.

Right which is why there are advanced mathematical models that provide more thean rudimentary statistics. That said keep your charade up, it is hilarious. I love it when less-ons like you turn to parsing and a mixing bowl of stupid to justify the most inane positions. Carry on.

Comparing the offenses Iowa faced to the defenses that Purdy faced is laughable. Iowa faced 5 Top 50 offenses last year; Purdy faced 1 Top 50 defense last year.

So Purdy played one of the worst defensive schedules ever but Iowa's schedule was still easier than Iowa State's. What does that say about the offenses Phil Parker faced?
