Cam Lard blocked shots. Was he a good defender?

One of Iowa's transfer thugs put up like 30 in the first half in Hilton one year.

Matt Thomas was put on him in the 2nd half. He ended up with 32.

I actually remember Georges guarding a lot of him in the second half.

It was not like White Chocolate was the second coming of Larry Bird and needed one of the better defender in college basketball to slow him down. He just had the best/luckiest half of basketball of his life and regressed to the mean the second half.

I'm not going to go back and look for advanced metrics to support an argument I don't care about. I just don't think there's miles difference between the two defensively

Tyrus McGee...

PRPG! says Tyrus was a better player as a senior of the "four" above.

DGBPM says Tyrus was actually a better defender -- slightly, but yes, he was.

ORTG says Tyrus was slightly better on offense, too.

Both of them were dang good college guards, but Tyrus held his own.

Apparently even when the stats agree that there's not much difference in their defense that's dumb.

Unfortunately no Iowa based team is going to advance in TBT until we can get an upgrade inside.

If Iowa United wins, it is going to be because we make long shots and layups after they miss long shots that bounce over their rebounders.

This is the most strategic moment in the game. Close the gap in the next 19+ seconds before the Elam Ending takes effect.

And we just did the opposite by letting them go on a run and use up more clock. Double trouble.
