Iowa Football Recruiting

Nope, he took over in 1999. Took him a few years to get the program back on its feet. Since 2001, he has averaged 8.5 wins. That is a long time of having continued success.

After more thought, I might actually put Fry in third place.

I would rank them as:

1) Evy
2) Howard Jones
3) Fry
4) Ferentz
Hated his music.

The point is that both are acceptable results. I don't hold Campbell's first year against him at all.
Then all you had to do was say, yes the 7.5 wins over his time is acceptable with the input resources.
You didn't have to go all Thinker.

KF took over a bad 3-8 team. It took him three years to get to a bowl game. Campbell took over a 3-9 team and it took him two years to get to a bowl game. What's the problem here?

Well what Campbell did was way more impressive, not sure how you could argue against that

Just saying that he has also averaged 8.5 wins since 2001 with some of those seasons being 11 game seasons.

I love it. Selectively choose the years, then add in the highs while not mentioning the lows.
LOL.

I feel that the past 18 years have been pretty consistent and it is a large time frame to work with and why Iowa fans have been pleased for the most part with Ferentz.

Not as dumb as saying 247 composite is my go to rating service when they probably use 1/2 of their data from "trash" resources according to you. Makes zero sense.

I mean you're comparing someone taking over for a legendary coach and someone taking over for Paul Rhoads and you're not even using the same time frame while doing it. Honestly that's the second dumbest take I've seen on the board today

He took over for a 3-8 team that was void of talent cause Hayden wasn't exactly doing much recruiting as he got older and had health problems.

So Fry isn't a legend and he ended his career twice as bad as Paul Rhoads?

He is a legend. In the college coaching hall of fame. Doesn't mean that he left the program in great shape though. This is common knowledge.

I'm sure you can just take off the last 2 years of his coaching.

Look, all of KF years count as his record. His Maine record and his first two years at Iowa will probably be what keeps him out of the Hall of Fame actually.

But it is still correct to say he averaged 8.5 wins over the last 18 seasons. Not sure why this has gotten you so stirred up.
