By the rulebook those are probably* both fouls, but in practice are not called most of the time, especially at the end of the game.
It is obviously referencing Northwestern State who is their natural rival.
Most were thinking 6-10 seed prior to the season, and that was assuming healthy Wigginton, healthy Young and eligible and healthy Lard. The team has been up and down, but on balance at this point the team has exceeded expectations of most pre-season. Had people known the volatility of the roster, there would have been almost no one that expected sitting at around a 5 seed with 5 games to go. Given the strange losses at home, some criticism is fair, but they have been really good on the road. Plus losses are all to teams currently projected in the tournament and a close loss to Arizona at the beginning of the year when short-handed.
As I said to many of the fans melting down - Big12 currently has 8/10 teams projected as being in the tournament. While the league doesn't have a really good team as it had with TTU or KU last year, it's deeper than it has ever been. ISU is talented but pretty streaky and inconsistent. Teams like Baylor, TCU, OU and Texas are certainly not great, but are good enough to knock off a good team that doesn't play its A game.
Unhappy might be the wrong word, but both teams have left a lot on the table. Probably more so ISU with three head scratching home losses.
That's where I'm at. I get pissed during and after games like Baylor and TCU, but ISU is 15 months removed from getting thoroughly dominated by Milwaukee at home. It should be a pretty fun year for both fan bases.
