I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

Iowa fans sit around constantly bragging that the Hawks beat Iowa State at Carver since it doesn’t always happen.

Iowa State fans are quiet the rest of the year after Iowa State beats Iowa in Hilton because everyone expects it since Iowa never wins in Hilton.

Difference between the 2 fan bases.

I mean I get it. Since Iowa's big wins this year have been pretty minimal it makes total sense why they would relish that Iowa State win.

I mean, Iowa has won 20 games and beaten some good teams. Its not like they are going to be a true road team in any NCAA tourney game.
I said I would be impressed if Iowa beat a good team on the road. Beating good teams at home doesn't impress me...I've seen it in person for decades. It's also keeping Iowa below ISU, and others, on the metrics, so it matters. The committee likes to evaluate how teams do away from home. Iowa is unfortunate that UCONN and Oregon aren't what we thought they might be.

I'm not saying Iowa is a bad team. Hell, I've not watched them. However, they've done nothing that impresses me.

Cytwins posted the Maryland stat for one reason...seemed odd considering ISU had just lost to a team that hadn’t beaten a ranked opponent on the road for a couple decades
ISU deserves every criticism that you can come up with for that loss. At least we've beaten some god teams on the road to balance it out. What has Iowa done to balance out getting trounced at home by MSU?

Blew out Michigan and ISU at home

Home wins are nice and all, but they never carry you that far. The really good teams win away from home as well. Anyone can snag a big game at home, but doing it on the road is a much bigger deal. Even bad teams like Penn State and West Virginia have snagged big wins at home against ranked teams.

By the way I mean by winning away from home being wins against other tourney teams. I do realize Iowa has beaten Indiana, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, Illinois away from home, but those are all not tourney teams and they are all pretty bad teams. The tourney road games Iowa has faced Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan State, they were not competitive in most of those.

Not to mention that wins like at Tech and KSU are what we as fans look most for when it comes down to what impacts a season.

The Iowa game is annoying whether ISU wins or not but either way an early December game will never have a big impact.
