I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

I've seen one Iowa game this year. Purdue. I should watch more often because I enjoyed that.

Hitting last second shots to win against anybody is exciting and is worthy of happy emotions. The fact that those shots were necessary should be a bit concerning. Two miracle shots away from pitchforks, hot tar, and feathers over there. Particularly Northwestern.

You caught 1 of the 5 they've played against teams with a winning record in B1G play. They're 1-4 in those games. They just don't seem to come around very often.

I wonder home many road/neutral wins they've had against teams projected to be in the tournament? Committee likes to see performance away from home. At least they always have.

Yep, I watched it on my phone at a friend's bday party. People thought I was nuts when I was jumping up and down by myself and screaming. Had to explain what happened and then when they saw it, they couldn't believe it either.

This is the way Iowa State Fans celebrate after taking out the 18th ranked team in the nation on the road no less.

I didn't celebrate like that. :(

Without doing a deep dive I'm going to say 0. They probably have 3 wins over tournament teams (ISU, Michigan, and Ohio State). All of those were at home. Now fair warning they're going to get another one tomorrow night. Maryland is coming off a tough stretch of games, and it will be their second road game in 4 days. Legs won't be there. Iowa will win that one.

I seem to recall Iowa State football fans getting plenty excited over a come from behind win against a garbage Kansas State team this season. Also, didn’t Iowa State fans storm the court after a victory over an unranked Iowa team a few years ago?

@benjimill - when you got nothing....you always revert back to football. What a tool you are!

You seem like you’re not very intelligent, so I will try to explain this thoroughly for you. You are making fun of Iowa fans for getting excited about a last-second victory over a bad/mediocre basketball team. Iowa State fans were similarly excited about a come from behind victory over a bad/mediocre football team. It is hypocritical of you to make fun of Iowa fans for reacting in the same manner in which Iowa State fans react in similar circumstances. The fact that they are in two different sports is totally irrelevant.

However, if you want me to stick to basketball, I will just point out that Iowa State fans stormed the court after a victory over an unranked Iowa team a few years back.

Iowa State leapfrogs the Hawks in the AP poll at #19 while Iowa stays at #21.

Which was expected, IMO. Each team played 1 game this week and ISU looked much better. The gap is really small separating those teams in the AP Poll. Iowa is closer to FSU at #16 than they are to Wisconsin which is 1 spot behind the Hawkeyes.

They were storming to court to break Randy's leg, not because of the win.
