I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

Oklahoma is a curious case. They probably need to go 7-11 in conference (sitting at 3-9 right now). If they get close though you have to think the committee will like the non-conference Lon put together... They didn't play any juggernauts but went 11-1 against the 13th ranked non-conference SOS in the country. I see they do have 4 more opportunities for quadrant 1A wins as well. That's opportunity or demise.

I think OU, Florida, and Nebraska will be very interesting. They all seem stuck right around #40 in the NET, but are a combined 0-20 in Q1 games and Florida and Neb have pretty bad overall records.

There's a reason he doesn't make shots inside the 3 point line. He's short and unathletic. If he tried to have a mid range game he would struggle to create enough space to not get blocked unless they ran sets for him which they don't

Agreed. This saying nothing about his shooting ability though. His 2 pt% is likely a result of his physical limitations, not his shooting ability.

Oklahoma Q1 record: 3-8
Nebraska Q1 record: 2-8
Florida Q1 record: 1-9

Easy to have a top 10 offense given what the majority Iowa's competition has been like. Easy to pad that offensive stat line.

Currently, 12 of 19 (63%) of Iowa's wins are against teams with a .500 overall record or worse. Come the end of the year there's a good possibility that this percentage will go up.

For comparison, currently, 6 of out 18 (33%) of ISU's wins are against teams with a .500 overall record or worse

Currently, only three teams from Iowa's non-conference have a winning overall record: ISU, Oregon, and Uconn. Given Uconn's remaining schedule they'll most likely have a losing overall record come the end of the regular season.

For comparison, currently only three teams from ISU's non-conference have a losing overall record: Southern, Alabama State, and Illinois.

Did ISU have a weak / easy non-conference schedule sure. Kenpom has us at 203 currently. Iowa's is currently at 332 out of 347.

Yikes, there’s a lot wrong with your post here.

- Kenpom’s efficiency ratings account for strength of schedule- so Iowa’s 7th rated offense is placed on the exact same scale as every other team in the country. Even if that weren’t true:
- Iowa’s strength of schedule is better than Iowa State’s
- Iowa has faced a much more difficult schedule than Iowa State in terms of quality of opponent defense (Iowa- 22nd most difficult; Iowa State- 51st most difficult).

It's probably a smart scheduling strategy on the whole. Then again you can never know exactly what you're up against.... they finished December with a 5 game stretch of Notre Dame, Wichita State, USC, Creighton, and @Northwestern. Basically everyone of those teams is down this year. Still, that allowed them to stack a bunch of Quad 2 wins while everyone else is playing Maryland Eastern Shore and Alabama A&M.
Agree...tough to game it to the extent of 0 quad 4s. Iowa needs to do a better job scheduling the cupcakes. Multiple 300+ games is killer

This is true according to KenPom, however NET rating has Iowa's schedule a lot lower quality. I'm not sure why there is a difference but it's significant. In NET, it's 82nd SOS and 280th NCSOS. ISU's is 29th, and 90th.

This is also the only SOS listed on the team sheets, so I think it's the only one that's relevant.

If they hang around that area we’ll definitely find out just how much emphasis the NET gets...

On OU and Nebraska....I understand why OU is there because of the 0 Quad 4 games....can’t for the life of me figure out Nebraska. OOC SOS wasn’t all that...old RPI around 100. They must have blown up some of the other metrics but I’m not seeing it.

Like South Dakota State, Iowa's defense is a travesty. The Hawkeyes have allowed at least 82 points on eight occasions, and they have yet to play an overtime game this season. They did recently hold Michigan to 59 points, but that said more about the Wolverines' offensive woes than anything.

Yeah a couple Bryant’s is enough. No reason to not have some/more MAC, Horizon, Summit, Ohio games in there.
Even Iowa might not want to schedule 332nd ranked Bryant. They probably should have lost that game. That probably would have been one of the worst losses ever by a tournament team.
