Triggered beyond belief
This is literally the exact response I figured I would get from you. Typical Cyclone response- Get hit with a truth bomb that you don’t like and quickly try to deflect.

You guys have given Iowa fans **** for years about “only” having ~60,000 in Kinnick for the Purdue game in 2015 when it snowed 6” the morning of the game and wind chills were in the single digits. Now you want a pass for having high school level attendance for a game in which there was a threat of freezing rain? LOL!
Also, FYI- Iowa State’s attendance for football was pretty bad this year.
You're giving away free tickets vs the #6 team in the country and you guys still won't sell it out. That would NEVER ever happen at Hilton and you know it
And comparing basketball (comfortable environment) to football (variable).I'm not an attendance smack talker because I don't care that much; but comparing a stadium that was recently expanded by 10% to one that was shrunk (kinnick) or stayed the same (carver) seems very dumb in my book never the less.
Is Benji really comparing filling a 60,000 seat stadium to a 15,000 seat arena?
ISU gave out free tickets to a top 25 football matchup? or any matchup? I didn't see that, woulda drove down from the cities and been all over it.I am pointing out the hypocrisy of Iowa State fans. Iowa State can’t come close to selling out a game at JTS; at least Iowa sells out Carver on occasion. Iowa State also offers a bunch of promos in an attempt to boost attendance for football, just like Iowa has to do for basketball. I find it hilarious that you guys pat yourselves on the back for being the BEST FANS IN AMERICA!!!!, then make fun of Iowa basketball for doing the exact same thing your football program does.

And free parking
On FridayLol could you imagine if there was free parking at JTS? People would be tailgating at 4am

In 2017, ISU sold 94.1% of its capacity on average.
In 2018, ISU sold 91.1% of its capacity on average. That excludes a near sellout to SDSU and replaced with ****** weather against Drake.
So According to you, that is "can't come close to selling out a game"
I wouldn’t be bragging about 94% capacity in a year in which you played both Iowa and Iowa State at home, but maybe that’s just me.

To answer your question more pointedly, when the closest you get to a sellout in 2018 is several thousand tickets short in a match-up against a Top 5 opponent...then yes, I would say that constitutes not coming close to a sellout.
